Collusion on the dance floor

I'm sure this has been brought up b4 in different incarnations but rather than get too Xfiles or pessimistic, I want to find out the facts and the current state of play.

A few days ago I played a $22+2 SNG and I'm sure two guys were either colluding or being really nice to each other (they should get a room if you know what I mean). This I cannot prove.

Which prompts me to think:
I can play online, open a RDC (for those not in IT = Remote Desktop Connection to see their screen) with a friend or friends and play in a SNG or cash table, use messaging/voice in the RDC whether it be the standard XP/Vista RDC or third party tool VNC, establish rules, and collude to out dance you on the green felt.

Not that I'd ever do anything like this but what's to stop a crew or even a Pokersite (who can do it without our knowledge) from doing the same thing? Do they have standardised guidelines or an independant authority to oversee them?
I know sites have ways of detecting it, but I can hide my IP address, use different proxies or pc's to disguise it.

I know the trend of the same people on the same table would be easy to detect but not if you had many many software drones or bots with different accounts.

What are your opinions?

PS - feel free to slap if I've been out of line here ..ouch

anything is possible...i play SNGs with tony and dave all the time. i dont soft play them, heck i actually play more aggressively with them. is it possible they were playing together yes.

however, i dont think its much to worry about. i think playing good poker you can use it against them or play around them and it wont hurt you too much.

What matters most is how well you walk through the fire.

Yeah too true Viticus - I see what you mean. Thanks

PS - LOL! I just read back what I typed in haste that was in my head;
'(they should get a room if you know what I mean). This I cannot prove.'

Let me state that I cannot prove that they were colluding...ROFL MAO!!!

You can always send a mail to support with the two nicknames, telling them you had the feeling they were colluding, and they will review the HH's to see if there are any irregularities...

I need a girlfriend who loves me for my money... and is pretty bad with math.

Is it possible we were playing together?? WTF?? Don't make excuses.

Actually, we do play a good bit and it's a pride thing. We play each other harder than the rest of the table.

Can people collude? Of course. Is it done? You betcha. But as Rock posted, contact the site and they will check for irregularities.

You are right rx, it would be really easy to cheat and you can do nothing but report it to the support.

One question remains, though. Imho it doesnt make any sense to cheat at a $20 sng. There is too much at stake and you cant really make a lot of money. Then again, if it was cheating and if it was that easy to spot, it might be those guys are not the most clever guys under the sun.

they might have been running a test of their scheme before moving to bigger games.

To see how well it works, how well it goes unnoticed, ect...

I report it just to be sure.
