Got the newletter a while back and planned on playing this today as it looked quite promising. 10x $1000 bounties (the Brunsons, Mike Caro, Hoyt Corkins, Shannon Elizabeth, etc.).
Now about half an hour before the start of the tournament they decided to reschedule it to next saturday... just like that. "technical problems" was the answer I got from the support .. yea right.
Considering that only roughly 500 players paid the $165 buy-in, I believe it's obvious why they canceled the tournament.
In my opinion this was a very very poor move of Doyle's peeps .. something I would've never expected.

Since changing networks, most of the decent prizepool tournies on Doyle's are now rebuy tournies so they can cover some of the overlay. Unfortunately, postponing this tourney doesn't surprise me that much. I agree. Bad move.

Just another KITNs. You'll get used to them.

So I decided to play it anyways since they don't have any other tourney that I like. 1319 players registered ( a bit of a difference to the 550 last saturday, huh?).
The tournament structure is about the worst I have ever seen. 2.5k starting stack and after about 1.5-2 hours, the blinds are already so high that it's pretty much impossible to play real poker. All you can do is sit there and wait for an all-in hand and pray that it holds up.
The bounties were all gone pretty quick too.
Unfortunately I was lucky enough to suck out once or twice and still finish 9th for $3275. Not sure if I'm gonna play the next one of these .. probably rather not.

Congrats on the finish though. Did you see the promotion that they did for this tourney?? If you deposited more than $75, you got to play it free. Hence the great increase in the number of players.

Thanks. Yea I've seen that... might have been another reason for the donkfest. It was pretty sick, Until about 30 players were left, every single one of my blind-stealing raises got answered by an all-in move. Must have been at least 12-15 .. huge raises too .. I sure was about to freak out there

On a sidenote, I was impressed by the good atmosphere. There have been a huge lot of bad beats and not-so-good plays, yet I have never seen anyone freak out or start swearing like it's usual on stars or full tilt.
There was a lot of talking going on, especially in the later part of the tournament, which was nice too.
