Do you think anyone realized that the event was going to coincide with the Presidential Election? I realize poker players aren't all that political, but it seems to me that this will at least be a major distraction to the public.

true, even in Germany there is live coverage on all main TV stations

This will be nothing more than a hyped up game show, big mistake, it will bomb miserably. Add to the presidential election NFL, NHL, NBA, NCAA games, who the hell wants to watch 9 incoherent retards play poker? Some, but not much.

We'll complain but we'll watch.

Just another KITNs. You'll get used to them.

i wont complain its better than watching a bunch of juiced up caveman play sports.
oh and the election...america is toast anyway. doesnt matter that much.
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire.

From all of the hype when they came up with the idea, I really thought that there would have been more exposure and a better promotional campaign on ESPN's sister networks.

the only exposure I've seen is when they were mentioned in the live reporting ^^

Anybody watch the profiles of each player on last night's show?

I have another question about November nine. Who do you guys think will be a winner of this last event?

Is there any chance you can watch the final table, if you dont have ESPN?
something like a live stream on the Internet?
PS: Yay, 100. post

us europeans are screwed for coverage!!

In Holland we have a network that will be broadcasting it ^^

i like either peter eastgate or demidov to win. i think dennis phillips is a nice guy but also a donkey. chino might make plays that are too sophisticated and get called down. ylon schwartz (my personal favorite) has a pretty good chance if he doesn't melt down (alot like me!). Craig Marquis is a pretty good player but he really cant afford one big bad beat to anyone at the table. That is an issue considering almost everyone catches one at a final table.
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire.

Since I'm in the same age bracket, I have to pull for Dennis Phillips.

Didnt Demidov make the FT of the WSOPE as well? so he's running good lately, I'll put my money on him.
11-07-2008 07:00
I think It s going to be a ultra agressive player, one of them will take control on a big pot, probably getting lucky and then will just have enough chips to finish the job.
I ll go with Demidov then or maybe Rheem who can really play the game well and be ultra agressive without blowing a fuse...
Like Davega I like Dennis but I think he will go down against one of the agressive player, he will have a strong hand, an agressive player will be on a draw and will rivered him.
