Well I guess I'll give a short life story. I dropped out of college because even though I can't figure out what I want to do with my life, what I do know is my college doesn't have what I want to do. So instead of rushing into something else I decided to take a semester off and do I guess what you call some soul searching. My problem is I have a passion, but I can't really figure out how to connect my passion with school. Obv I'm talking about poker. I have the freedom and would absolutely love to be in Vegas for this years WSOP. Even if I had a job setting up tables, or really anything at all, I know it'd be a great experience, open up a lot of doors, and hopefully help me figure out what to do with my life. So if you have any ideas or connections it'd be greatly appreciated if you could help me out in any way.
Thanks,
Nate

Why don't you just contact the guys at the Rio directly? I don't know what it's like in the U.S, but over here the Casino's always seem to be looking for good people.

Go back to school and go talk to either the Math department or the psychology department. Honestly, you would be suprised at how much I learned from this. I actually played all through college with one of my math professors and him and I both taught each other a lot about poker. My game improved quit a bit. (of course, I decided to go to grad school for my MBA instead of pursuing poker, but oh well.) This type of training can be the best because you have something to fall back on that will make you some money to support your poker after you graduate!
I had a friend who tried the same thing as you. 6 months later he moved back.
But, if you have a dream, just take a bus out there and figure it out. If you aren't smart enough to adapt on the fly and find a way to make a living in Vegas, then probably poker isn't your best choice of careers. I guess though, even if you fail, Obama will be here to pick you up and spread the wealth! LOL
There is never a wrong mistake as long as you learn the first time!

I don t know exactly how old you are and what hace been your experiences in life. If you want to try something, do it to the fullest of your capabilities so you won t have to regret anything.
Be careful anyway as if you didn t figure out what you want to do in your life, then it probably won t be poker ( as a player anyway ) as you need to be ready mentally to face a lot of challenges. This doesn t mean poker won t be a very good learning experience for your life in the future ( actually it could be a very good one ).
just hope you find your way, keep faith in what you beleive and most importantly in yourself.
Bonne chance a toi.
