hello all me and my pal are going to vegas in two weeks. and am looking forward to playing live touneys and sng's for cheap (under 100) i am a steady live player. but my home casino rarely hosts tourneys so my only real tournment poker is on-line so i was wondering if there are any regular live tourney players can help me with some advice on how to play them differently then om line? ty

I would first have a look at this website:
http://www.allvegaspoker.com/tournaments.php
I ddin t play myself but I was with a friend who played a lot of them. According to him the Venitian and the Orleans have really nice structures.
Be careful with the levels because 20 minutes on internet and 20 minutes live is not the same thing, way less hands are played... moreover if they don t have automatic card shufflers ( like at the Sahara for exemple ).
A lot of the cheap buy-in seems to be very fast and you will need to get a lot of luck to get anywhere.
Hope it helped...

Get the book 'Poker tournament formula' by Arnold Snyder, written with specifically these tourneys in mind.

Be careful with the book if you just start to play poker though... it is pushing you toward agression and there is a thin line between agression and giving your chips away sometimes...
Keep us posted on your results...
Good luck to you

Hey, can you make sure I never come on the same side of the line as you? I enjoy my chips!

so does the table chip leader when you finally push your 4bb's in and he has the right odds to call with any two.
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire.
