I have a friend who wants to sponser my gaming..
what's the common percentage between player and sponser? anyone knows or can give me information about online poker sponsership?

70 to the player 30 to the sponser?
and do you reduct the cost of tournaments/cash from that?
like if I played for 500$ and made 1000$ I get 70% off of 500?

I was just joking around.

Whatever he's willing to pay should be fine for you, no? You don't usually get "sponsored" just like that .. meaning someone pays you the full buy-in and gets 30% of your winnings or something. Why would anyone do that if you're not some kind of a famous person that on return, gets the sponsor airtime?

It normally works like this: You get staked for a percentage of the buy in. If he pays you $250 and you're playing a $500 tournament, he will get 50% of your winnings in return. 1:1

That minimizes variance for the player, and gives the staker a much better shot at a huge score by having shares of several players at the same time.

I would agree that you should feel lucky someone wants to sponsor you especially for online tourneys. Typically there is more in it for the sponsor than a cut of the winnings. They are also looking for exposure which in online games will not be much if any since it is not on TV.

If the guy is willing to pay the entire buy in I would recommend jumping at the chance unless he wants 100% of the winnings because you are essentially getting to play risk free on your end.
