Do you adjust your game to the poker room?

Just a question like that.

Do you play a different style depending on where you play?

If yes, and that s the interesting part of the question, why?

At the poker table, you really mean it.

I do...there are two reasons (I am referring to NL cash games):

UB I smooth call more often with lesser hands, mainly because most people don't raise and a less agressive style of play by other players. Stars, I tighten up and come in with the intentions of either raising right away or call and then reraise the raise because a ton of people on stars seem to do the simple 4xbb in an unraised pot on the button. It feels like a much more agressive style in general.

Also, on UB, because of the style, I am very careful when there are 3 of the same suit on the table, especially if I have anything but the nut high flush. Some people would say the game is rigged to allow more flushes...I think that in general, a more "call" friendly game room so people will hit them more often.

I will adapt to the table that I encounter, stars has its fair share of passive tables, and other rooms have their fair share of aggro tables.

That s what I was looking for. It s pretty incredible how some sites gives different results. I don t beleive it s only about the players but also about the doftware they use to deal the cards on the board. For example on Cake network, I would say that it s very rewarding to limp a lot or call a raise with a marginal holding as a lot of straights, flushes or even full houses will hit for the underdog pre-flop. Maybe as you say this is because people are more call friendly and that I fold to many marginal hands and keep betting my big hands...

Well, you're both right. It depends on the table and Cake does have some soft, call happy ring games.

I was referring to the 'cake has all these action boards' part... please don't say it's rigged...

For me I do adjust my game to some degree based on the other players. I think you almost have to sometimes otherwise you will struggle to win. If someone is playing a style that makes it hard for you to win, you need to be able to adjust to it and find a way to win.

but also about the software they use to deal the cards on the board.

You pretty much did it there. The RNG is either random or it's not, in which case it would be considered "rigged". Wink

I would think that the amount of regulars plays a big role here. The games on Pokerstars and Full Tilt will often be completely different than on smaller sites with much less traffic like bodog.

Frenchie, you maybe didn't directly say it was rigged, but you said software isn't the same. I think it has everything to do with the players. The more you limp, the more you will hit flushes FH's, etc. I think UB has a lot of people that don't really understand the game on the cash portion. As a result, more incorrect play that will result in some bigger hands being "drawn" to.

Would you say the players are as agressive on Cake as they are on stars? (I never played, so I don't know.) From there, if people draw out more is it because the people on Cake don't raise as much (after all, you implied you can limp) or is it because the cards?
