i believe that different situations call for different measures, however i don't think it's a good idea to blanket the term, "it depends on the situation." in the preceding example an Pomeroy had nothing on the flop, but called anyway. examining this strategy i would guestimate the only "logical" explanation was that he was going to make a move on 3rd or 4th street (he did not). he turned 2nd pair, however the river had a 9 for possible trips, plus the ace and he still called. raising on the turn would have made sense, however passively calling all the way down did not add up. sometimes you have to be able to lay down good hands, here he flopped nothing + still called?
