On Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, another piece of the UltimateBet and Absolute Poker superuser scandal was revealed to the poker world by Travis Makar. For those who don’t know who he is, Makar is associated with the superuser scandal as being the owner of several accounts that were used in the scheme. He was also a computer programmer who worked with UltimateBet and Russ Hamilton. He recently participated in two interviews with the DonkDown Radio show and has been releasing bits of evidence to host Bryan Micon. To read more on Makar and familiarize yourself with developments up to this point, check...

I Work in computing. I find it very hard to believe that a simple registry key could enable "god mode" on a program that is mainly server-side...
Let me explain:
The registry is made up of thousands of keys on a standard windows machine, most of the keys used by programs are simply to tell the program what to do.. for example:
Make tea? = 1 Would enable the tea maker.
Make tea = 0 would disable it..
So trying to pass that simply setting god mode = 1 on a users pc, not having to change anything server side just doesnt work in my head. Can't help but call bs on this, at least partly, something must have to be done server side or any script kiddie with regedit could in theory, discover this. Just my thoughts.

did you consider the fact that this was done years ago though J3W4NDM3?
just double checking cause if not, you may want to consider the technology back then and how everything was really quite simple/basic.

Well it has already been revealed that the one major flaw of ultimate bet's early programming was that it sent every player's hole card info to every computer playing. So the problem wasn't on the server side. While the hole card info was encrypted, I can certainly see how a simple program could "unscramble" The opponent's hole card info. The truth is Ultimate bet was programmed so that God mode could exist, all other online poker sites keep the opponent's hole card info secure on their servers.

I think everyone should boycott the site until it all comes out.

How much did Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke know, and when? Could be only a matter of time before the whole online poker business comes tumbling down. Collusion, cheating, account swapping, money laundering, etc. are all rampant and increasing daily.
On April 5, 2010, the Financial Times reported that a federal grand jury in Manhattan is investigating Full Tilt Poker and individuals associated with the company, including Howard Lederer and Chris Ferguson, for violations of gambling and money-laundering laws. Although neither the Manhattan United States Attorney nor officials with the United States Department of Justice would comment on the matter, it was reported that such an investigation “would fit the federal law enforcement strategy by trying to make an example out of prominent targets”. The Department of Justice maintains that online poker violates the Interstate Wire Act of 1961 (Federal Wire Act).

Thet should just shut the company down and thow all the owners into prison, if we cant do that then the best way is for all the UB/AP players to cash out and play elsewhere, that would kill the scamming site dead!
