Great overview of what is happening in poker. The Raymer clip in particular because there seems to be this canyon between what the DOJ is saying & what long-term friends are saying with respect to the FullTilt principals. One thing is for sure, although "innocent until proven guilty" is the normal mantra ... you can hardly blame poker players w empty accounts to be sympathetic. Feelings are running really high.

What "greatness" or "good" was accomplished by the U S ban on online poker? What terrible evil was overcome and eliminated by George W. Bush' signing of the "ban online poker law"? The more I think about this I'm at a loss for a logical reason for that action! No "greatness" was achieved. No "good" was created. What I do see is "loss of freedom". Loss of employment. Loss of good economic activity by American citizens attempting to exercise their freedom to live their lives as they see fit. Gee, is that what America has become? That action by Bush and the implementation of the law 2years plus later is exactly what one would expect from the ayatollahs of Iran! From the little "fat guy" in N. Korea. From the old bearded loser socialist in Cuba, not from a president of America! Oh, you say that many people would be spared the agony of losing their money that they should have spent for food for their children! HA! They can just go down the street to one of the THOUSNADS of local INDIAN casinos and lose their kids food money. NO ACCOMPLISHMENT. NO GOOD. NO REASON just creating more problems for Americans and destrroying more freedom.
Poker Stars must be loving this. I'm sure many, many money players have found and will continue to find ways to play real money poker at thier site. With the advent of mega proxy servers thru out the world that should be easy.(BTW, their play money site, still running in America SUCKS. FT is light years ahead of them) The only possible good that came out of this mess is the fraud glaringly exposed on the behalf of FT. They deserve to be vigously prosecuted to the fullest extent for their crimes and made to pay restitution plus interest to those whose money they have not paid.
I sincerely hope that someone buys the franchise and gets the play money site back up and running as I really enjoy playing there. I would even put up w/banner ads for them to make some money on it. Bottom line: FREEDOM IN AMERICA TAKES ANOTHER HIT. TOO BAD!
