Each week, the Global Poker Index releases a list of the top 300 tournament poker players in the world. The list is created by using a formula that takes a player's results over six half-year periods. There's a new No. 1 this week: Jason Mercier has reclaimed the top spot on the GPI. For a look at the entire list of 300, visit the official GPI website.
The Top 10 as of October 3, 2011
*Rank | Player | Total Score | Change in Rank from Last Week*
1 | Jason Mercier | 2,584.98 | +1
2 | Erik Seidel | 2,578.54| -1
3 | Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier | 2,486.00 | +1
4 | Eugene Katchalov | 2,473.83 |...
The inherent inaccuracy of this epic list is clear when you look at who is missing. Activity listings are "nice" to record who is playing a lot, but when most of the top players in the planet are absent, it becomes a little tiring.
