On Tuesday, Antanas “Tony G” Guoga, primary shareholder of PokerNews, announced his intention to pursue legal action against the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC). Guoga claims the commission was negligent in the handling of the Full Tilt Poker (FTP) situation, failed to exhibit due diligence for their licensees and should be held responsible.
The legal action being considered hinges on the fact that the AGCC knew there was a problem involving player funds prior to the Black Friday indictments, were negligent in their handling of the situation; and therefore, ought to be held...

I don't think you can blame Alderney - I think the speed of development of the online gaming industry in general has overwhelmed these small islands abilities. Yes they should have been more prudent but it sounds like the extent of the deception of Fulltilt in offshore territories wouldn't have been that easy to pick up on.

The G raises a good point, one which I am surprised hasn't really surfaced (at least to the boards / news sites). AGCC owed the players a duty to ensure the funds were in place to cover player deposits. Even the most simple of audits (balance sheet only) should have highlighted these issues. Anywayz, fingers crossed that we get that money any which way....
