Poker Players Alliance chairman Alfonse D'Amato will be a witness at the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade hearing on Internet poker on Tuesday.
The hearing isn't on Rep. Joe Barton's online poker bill, though Barton is a member of the subcommittee. Instead, it will focus on the more general theme "Internet Gaming: Is There a Safe Bet?"
"I think there are different stakeholders who are not necessarily on board with Barton's bill and would like to have a general discussion on how Internet poker can be regulated," said John Pappas, executive director...
FINALLY, somebody mentioning the fact that player's monies are TRUST monies belonging to the players not to the sites (to only be used and applied by the sites as directed by the player). Although regulation will undoubtedly S**K, the current situation is even worse. Hopefully enough traction has been built now to get something through sooner rather than later. Too bad they couldn't have done this years ago b/4 AP got my online bankroll. ;-P
