It's been awhile since Phil Ivey has graced the poker world with his presence on the felt. In April, when the doom of Black Friday fell upon us, Ivey disappeared from play. In May, Ivey issued a statement saying that he was suing Tiltware, the software and marketing company for Full Tilt Poker, and boycotting the World Series of Poker. The suit was eventually dropped, but Ivey did follow through with his boycott of the WSOP by not playing a single event.
Recently, there were rumors swirling that Ivey was in Macau. That was a fairly believable claim since he's been known to play in some of...
i feel like such a nerd for being so excessivly excited that phil ivey is back playing poker.

Great that Phil Ivey is back. Compare Phil Ivey's boycott of the WSOP with Phil Hellmuth's four 2nd place finishes & new-found, down-to-Earth attitude ... which event elicits admiration. I hate to say it but Phil Hellmuth's actions trump the absent Ivey. Both players were involved in corrupt poker sites that have "permanently borrowed" large amounts of cash from players.
Far from being a Hellmuth fan, I compare both and give the nod to the ex-brat Phil Hellmuth. Phil Ivey is back and that is good for poker, but it is not the return of the Messiah folks ... the unanswered FullTilt questions remain.

ivey's actions/words are motivated by self interest. suing ft was a mistake.
he should ve just kept his mouth shut. no body really "cares" about anyone in the poker world. so we do some
charity tournies, donate money here and there. but the bottom line is we re looking out for number one.
ivey trying to come off as holier than though only makes him look hypocritical.
just be real ivey and stick to what you do best--poker. thats it. non of this boycotting, suing, etc.
