Five Thoughts: Ivey No Longer a Fan Favorite?

Post Reply
Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey boycotted the 2011 World Series of Poker after Black Friday, citing that, "I do not believe it is fair that I compete when others cannot. I am doing everything I can to seek a solution to the problem as quickly as possible."

Now, after binking a huge score Down Under, it appears as if Ivey's fans, who still can't compete, are boycotting him.

1. Ivey, Ivey, Ivey?

Over the weekend, Phil Ivey won the second annual Aussie Millions $250,000 Super High Roller, defeating a field of 16 players and banking a cool AUD$2 million. Earlier that same day (doesn’t that sound...

people hating on phil ivey are mad and stupid. ringworm218's post was the best, cuz he basically counters his own arguements. he is allowed to play in these tournys because he hasn't had a clue about what was going on on fulltilt. also, no fulltilt insider ever blaimed ivey for anything, best example tom dwan. people are just mad at fulltilt and too lazy do decide who is actually to blaim. i think alot of ivey fans are happier than ever to see him win after his long break. as soon as people get their money back they will realise what a bunch of bs they were talking.

I was chosen during the bet to be the arbitrator. Each side will pick a given discipline, whether it be football, basketball, baseball, etc. and I will decide what the two will have to do for that given sport as a competition. If Remko choses cycling, I could say it's a time-trial race for 20 KM. If Jason choses basketball, it could be a three-point shooting contest, foul shots or a one-on-one game. I'm sure you get the point.

The two are aiming to make the bet happen sometime at the beginning of the 2012 WSOP. Hopefully we'll be able to film it at PokerNews and see these two in battle. I can't wait!

REALLY? Even though Ivey was reported to be making 900k/MONTH and the players all got the shaft? Call me mad and stupid. FWIW, most of my money was on AP and apparently its going to be liquidated for pennies on the dollar, so I'm in even worse shape than the FT people, who MIGHT get paid after the sale.

So, does winning the Aussie Millions High Roller give Ivey enough money to repay his alleged FT loans and stop screwing up the sale?
