Chance Kornuth

Chance Kornuth is an American poker player and founder of ChipLeaderCoaching. Over the course of his career he has won three World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets and amassed over $8.7 million in lifetime earnings (November 2021).

Poker Achievements

Originally from Colorado, Kornuth's first recorded cashes came in Las Vegas in 2008. The following year, he registered a solitary cash at the 2009 WSOP, before winning his first WSOP bracelet in 2010. He was just 24 years and six days old when he took down Event #50: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha for $508,090.

Kornuth would continue to cash across the United States during the early 2010s, but predominantly in Las Vegas where in 2014 he won the Bellagio Cup X for $526,224.

The largest cash of his career came in 2015, finishing third in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) Main Event for $641,140. In 2016 he won the $25,000 Challenge at the Aussie Millions, finished second in the EPT Dublin Main Event and won a €10,000 High Roller at EPT Monte Carlo for combined cashes of over $1.3 million.

This only encouraged Kornuth to travel and play poker more, notching up cashes in Spain, the Bahamas, Australia and Canada before bagging a second WSOP bracelet in 2018. Playing under the username 'BingShui', Kornuth won the WSOP.com Online High Roller for $341,598.

In 2019, Kornuth would make two WSOP final tables before a run of three consecutive runner-up finishes in the 2019 Poker Masters.

When live poker returned in 2021, Kornuth got right back to winning ways. He won the MSPT Venetian $1,600 Main Event for $412,086, and then won the Wynn Classic $3,500 NLH for $353,891.

He topped his summer off with a third WSOP victory, winning Event #29: $10,000 Short Deck, the same event he had final-tabled the year prior. He defeated Chad Campbell heads-up to win $194,670.

Kornuth and the Galfond Challenge

In late 2020, Kornuth took on Phil Galfond in the Galfond Challenge. The pair traded leads early on, but the Challenge ultimately ended when Kornuth waved the white flag down almost three-quarters of a million dollars.
