Intro

Vamplew was born in 1987 in Fife, Scotland. He started playing poker at the age of 18, but only turned pro after graduating from the University in 2009. It was at the Edinburgh University that Vamplew got his poker education as he was unfamiliar with the game before. His first big tournament was the 2010 WSOP where Vamplew cashed in one event. However, the one he played after that changed his life forever. In September, 2010 Vamplew entered the EPT London Main Event for £5,000 and turned it into £900,000 in just few days.

Background

Vamplew had a job delivering newspapers and worked as a lifeguard in high school and then worked in a supermarket when he was already steadying in university. However, as he was already playing poker at the time, he soon figured he could make more money playing poker than doing anything else. Vamplew graduated from the Edinburgh University in 2009 with a degree in math. However, at that time he still wasn't sure what he wanted to do with his life and deiced to give poker a shot.

World Series of Poker

So far Vamplew has six World Series of Poker cashes to his name. His first one came in 2010 when he finished 106th in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em event for just over $6,000. However, he did much better the next year. Although cashing in just two events, Vamplew made one final table and had a decent payday in the Main Event. At first he placed fourth in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em / Six Handed event taking home just over $140,000 and then finished in 268th place in the Main Event for more than $40,000. Vamplew then scored three more WSOP cashes in 2012 taking home a total of $9,000 in prize money.
