The PokerNews Cup is a live poker tournament brought to you by your favorite online poker recourse – PokerNews. The inaugural PokerNews Cup started in 2007 at Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia. The first-ever PokerNews Cup winner was Australian native Dory Zayneh coming out victorious in the $3,000 PokerNews Cup Australia Main Event with a cash prize of $300,000.

The other tournaments hosted by PokerNews included PokerNews Cup Austria and PokerNews Cup Australia in 2008 and PokerNews Cup Alpine, as well as PokerNews Cup Australia in 2009.
