The Bonus Hunter, Vol. 3 – Hollywood Poker

I've chosen Hollywood Poker as the next installment in my 'Bonus Hunter' series for one, very large, reason. PokerNews has arranged a very large bonus offer from Hollywood Poker – 1000% to $1000. That is not a misprint. One-thousand percent. So, if you deposit $100, you will get $1000 in your bonus account.

Clearing Rates:

As I've stated in previous articles, the best low-limit games to clear online poker bonuses are 1/2 and 2/4 Limit Hold'em. For this particular bonus, you will need to play 17 raked hands for every $1 in bonus money released. 17x is fairly high for an online poker bonus, but the size of this bonus and the added value of the WSOP freeroll more than make up for the relatively high raked hands requirement.

You'll clear this bonus at Hollywood at around $2/hour/table at 1/2 Limit HE (full ring), and a little faster (around $2.50/hour/table) playing short-handed. If you play 2/4 Limit HE, you'll clear the bonus at around $4-5/hour/table.

Multiply the above figures by the number of tables you can play if you multi-table. The above figures are estimates based on PokerTracker stats and may differ based on unpredictable game variables.

Quality of Games:

The low limit games at Hollywood Poker (Poker Network) are fairly soft, which provides good value to a solid bonus hunter. There are some quality low limit players floating around the 1/2 and 2/4 limits, but the vast majority of players at those limits are fairly loose while the good players are somewhat predictable. A good bonus hunter will earn at a textbook bb/100 rate at these limits.

Assessing the quality of games is difficult and I can only assess them based on the relatively small sample size of games I played to write this report. I assess the quality of games relative what I perceive as the 'average' online quality for that limit.

Other Important Information:

- Customer support is quick and of a high quality. Hollywood Poker has a Live Help feature, which I believe every online poker room should offer.
- Cashout speed is average to poor. It took Hollywood Poker two business days to process my cashout.
- Hollywood Poker offers numerous reload bonuses, so if you like the site, you can bonus hunt there almost endlessly.
- There are a few bugs in the Hollywood Poker software, which I'm assured their tech staff are working tirelessly to fix.

Good luck and happy bonus hunting!
