Dan Shak - 4th Place
Dan Shak - 4th Place
David Steicke raised to 55,000 from under the gun and Dan Shak re-potted from the small blind. JC Tran folded his big blind and Steicke quickly moved all in.

"Do you have a pair?" Shak questioned his opponent and Steicke nodded.

"I believe you too!" said Shak as he contemplated folding and saving his last 22,000 chips. However in the end he made the call.

Shak: {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Steicke: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

It was all over on the flop as it landed {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} to give Steicke quad sevens to the "ooooohs" of the fans on the rail. The turn was the {9-Spades} and river the {K-Clubs} and Dan Shak becomes our 4th place finisher collecting AU$200,000 for his efforts.

Shak walked away from the table and couldn't watch as board ran out {10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Steicke can't find an ace and Shak doubles back to around 170,000.

Bloom Catches Steicke

Tony Bloom raised from under the gun and David Steicke defended with a call in the big blind.

They saw a flop of {A-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{A-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and Steicke checked to Bloom who fired 30,000. Steicke made the call.

The river was the {6-Clubs} and Steicke grabbed a stack of yellow chips, cut it in half and slid 50,000 into the middle. Bloom made a quick call. Steicke froze for a few seconds, seemingly not wanting to reveal his cards but eventually showed {J-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for flush and straight draws that missed. Bloom tabled {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for the best hand to take the pot.

John Juanda Eliminated

John Juanda eliminated
John Juanda opened with a raise to 32,000 from middle position and JC Tran made the call in the big blind.

They saw a flop of {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Tran checked to Juanda, who fired 33,000. Tran then check-raised to 70,000 as Juanda shook his head in disgust. He used a time breaker button before going for glory with an all-in bet. It backfired as Tran called and tabled {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for trips as Juanda was in trouble with his {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

The turn was the {4-Spades} and river the {10-Diamonds} to improve Tran to a full house and eliminate Juanda in sixth place.
