Seat 7: Peter Jetten - 1,700,000
Seat 8: Steven Friedlander - 694,000

Though short, Day 4 was packed with action from start to finish. We began the day with 18 players, including $100,000 Challenge winner Dan Shak and local favorites Steve 'The Big Show' Topakas and Joel Dodds.

Forgive the cliché, but it was Topakas who stole the show this afternoon, sending the crowd to their feet about once every half an hour, surviving all in after all in before eventually busting from the tournament in 12th place ($100,000 AUD).

Your overnight chip leader is Sorel Mizzi, who finished the day with a 3-1 chip lead over his next closet opponent. Mizzi was absolutely dominant this afternoon, though if you were to ask the man himself, we're sure he's likely to tell you that he had plenty of help from the deck throughout the day. "Run good," he said with a smile at one point in the day, after making quads in a hand against Kosta Varoxis. With so many chips, Mizzi has to be the favorite heading into the final table.

Joining Sorel at the final table is Betfair teammate Annette Obrestad. She is the second female to ever make the Aussie Millions Main Event final table since its conception. Obrestad finished 21st in this same event last year and won one of the preliminary events earlier in the series. If there's anyone who can catch Mizzi, it's her.

Our coverage of the 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event continues Saturday at 2:00 p.m. local time, live from Studio 3 in Crown. Do join us then to find out who will take home the most prestigious poker title in the Southern Hemisphere and the $2 million grand prize.

Until then, good night and good luck!

Kosmas Dratsas Eliminated in 9th Place ($125,000 AUD)

Kosmas Dratsas - 9th Place
Kosmas Dratsas - 9th Place
Sorel Mizzi raised from first position to 50,000. Kosmas Dratsas called from the big blind and the two would do battle again.

The flop came down {J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Dratsas checked. Mizzi fired 65,000 and then Dratsas moved all in for about 750,000. Mizzi made the call and held {K-Spades}{J-Spades}. Dratsas held {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and left Dratsas needing a seven or a six on the river to stay alive and drag on the day. A black lady in the form of the {Q-Clubs} hit the felt on the river and that was it; Dratsas was eliminated in 9th place on the bubble of the final table. Mizzi wound up with 6.033 million chips and will be the chip leader going into tomorrow's final day of competition.

Scoreboard Update

Here's a quick look at the outside table and how the four players there currently stack up:

Kosta Varoxis - 650,000
Kosmas Dratsas - 700,000
Peter Jetten - 1.7 million

Quadzilla

Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi has just extended his lead over the field after winning a three-way pot against Kosmas Dratsas and Kosta Varoxis.

Dratsas limped on the button, Mizzi completed from the small blind and Varoxis kicked it up an additional 65,000 from the big, getting both Dratsas and Mizzi to come along.

All three players checked the {Q-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop, sending the action to the turn -- {2-Clubs} -- where Mizzi led out with a bet of 105,000. Varoxis called and Dratsas folded.

5th Street delivered the {6-Diamonds} and Mizzi fired a 250,000 bet on the end. Varoxis tank-called the bet and Mizzi quickly turned over {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for quads. Varoxis mucked.

After the hand, we counted Mizzi at 5.13 million in chips.

Friedlander Wins a Flip to Stick Around

Stephen Shelly raised to 43,000 from the button before Steven Friedlander reraised all in from the small blind for around 460,000. Annette Obrestad called from the big blind and Shelly folded. When the cards were on their backs, Obrestad had the sled.

Obrestad: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Friedlander: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The flop added a-heckuva-lotta more outs for Friedlander when it came {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Needing a heart, an ace or a queen, Friedlander waited to see his fate on the next card.

The {8-Hearts} peeled off and Friedlander nailed his flush. The river was the {3-Spades} and officially sealed the win for the at-risk Friedlander. He's now up to about one million in chips.

Jens Kerper Eliminated in 10th Place ($100,000 AUD)

Jens Kerper
Jens Kerper
Action has picked up here in Studio 3, as we've just seen back-to-back all-in and call situations. This time around it was Jens Kerper at risk against Kosta Varoxis.

Varoxis opened the pot with a raise to 50,000 from the small blind and Kerper made the call in the big. The flop came down {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Varoxis led out with a 90,000 bet. Kerper then moved all in over the top for about 400,000 and Varoxis snap-called, holding {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}. Kerper would need some help, holding nothing but {K-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

The turn brought the {7-Clubs} giving Kerper a world of new outs, but the river blanked -- {6-Diamonds} -- and Kerper joined the rail in 10th place.

After the hand, Varoxis was a bit shell-shocked and revealed to the table that he barely knew he'd won the hand. We counted Varoxis at 1.3 million in chips after the dust settled.

Krost Not Lost Yet

Tyron Krost
Tyron Krost
Tyron Krost raised to 50,000 before Frederik Jensen called on the button. Stephen Shelly reraised to 120,000 from the small blind. Krost raised again to 375,000 and Jensen folded. Shelly moved all in and Krost called.

Krost: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Shelly: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}

The window card was the {J-Hearts} and the other two cards on the flop were the {10-Hearts} and {Q-Spades}. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and the river the {6-Diamonds}.

Krost found the miracle he needed to stay alive and let out a big sigh of relief after the hand was over. He's up to 1.95 million now while Shelly dropped to 800,000.

Four-bet Jet

Peter Jetten has just improved to 1.35 million in chips after stealing 165,000 from Kosmas Dratsas.

Action folded around the table to Jetten in the small blind who opened with a raise to 65,000 in chips. Dratsas then kicked it up to 165,000 from the big before Jetten moved all in over the top.

Dratsas then open-mucked pocket tens face up on the table, surrendering the hand to Jetten and leaving himself with 1.1 million in chips.

Mizzi Four-bets Kerper

Sorel Mizzi raised to 50,000 from under the gun and Jens Kerper reraised from the button to 165,000.

"How much are you playing?" asked Mizzi.

"Around 600," answered Kerper.

Mizzi then moved all in. Kerper tanked for a while and then mucked his hand, dropping to about 450,000. Mizzi moved up to 4.4 million.
