Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi
Former chip leader Sorel Mizzi has dropped to 950,000 in a hurry after doubling up Frederik Jensen.

Mizzi opened the pot with a raise to 200,000 from under-the-gun and when the action reached Jensen in the small blind, he three-bet to 575,000. Mizzi then four-bet all in holding {A-Spades}{5-Spades} and Jensen made the call with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

The ensuing board ran out {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Jensen's ace-king high held up to win the pot, sending him up to 5.5 million in chips.

Peter Jetten Eliminated in 5th Place ($350,000 AUD)

We're now down to four players with the recent elimination of Peter Jetten, via Tyron Krost.

Jetten opened the pot with a raise to 200,000 from the button and when the action reached Krost in the big blind, he three-bet to 600,000. Jetten then moved all in for about 2.3 million and Krost made the call:

Krost: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Jetten: {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Krost's tens held up to win the pot, kicking him up to 6.5 million in chips.

After the hand, Sorel Mizzi looked over at Krost and said, "Well I guess there's a new sheriff in town."

Tryon Takes the Lead

For the first time today, Sorel Mizzi is not the chip leader. The title now belongs to Tyron Krost from Sydney after the following hand:

Mizzi opened the pot with a raise to what looked like 150,000 (we couldn't quite see or hear the exact amount). Krost made the call from the button and the two saw the flop come {J-Spades}{7-Spades}{A-Clubs}.

Mizzi then fired a 275,000 bet and when the decision fell to Krost, he raised another 575,000. Mizzi released his cards, and the chip lead, dropping to 3.9 million in chips.

Krost is now sitting with right around 4.3 million.

Surprise Appearance

Jonno Pittock, Director of Poker Operations here at Crown, just introduced 2007 Aussie Millions champion Gus Hansen to the live studio audience. Gus signed a copy of his book for one lucky fan, and in true Gus Hansen fashion, he gave it to a lady.

Giving Back

Sorel Mizzi just extracted revenge against Frederik Jensen and improved to 5.4 million in chips in the process.

Mizzi opened the pot with a raise to 140,000 and Jensen made the call in the small blind. The flop came {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Jensen led out with a 200,000 bet that was called by Mizzi.

The {2-Spades} then fell on the turn and Jensen check-folded to a 400,000 bet from Mizzi, leaving himself with about 1.89 million in chips.
