Day 4 Completed

End of Day 4: 'Invader' Zim Takes Control Going Into the Final

Zimnan Zayard

And with that, the final table has been set:

Seat 1: Ioannis Taramas - 1,755,000
Seat 2: Charalampos Kapernopoulos - 749,000
Seat 3: Pierre Mothes - 1,073,000
Seat 4: Hauke Heseding - 1,660,000
Seat 5: Florian Schleps - 850,000
Seat 6: Mario Puccini - 1,077,000
Seat 7: Andras Kovacs - 210,000
Seat 8: Zimnan Ziyard - 2,771,000

Zimnan Ziyard will be going into the final as the big chip leader. The Brit took a big chip lead after knocking out former EPT San Remo champion Rupert Elder with just two tables left when he held {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} against Elder's {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} - a queen on the turn making Ziyard a full house in a pot worth 1.4 million chips and Elder left in 13th place.

We also lost former Snowfest finalist Koen De Visscher and PokerStars Team Pro Toni Judet who made it as far as Day 4 but couldn't get any further.

Flamboyant Ioannis Taramas currently sits in second place ahead of German Hauke Heseding, the latter continuing a recent good run having chopped the Sunday Million on PokerStars about a month ago. Fellow Greek Charalampos Kapernopoulos spent much of the day as the chip leader, but went on a late downswing in the last couple of levels, just managing to limp on the final table.

Apart from short stack Andras Kovacs, everyone else has a reasonable amount of chips, so it'll certainly be all to play for tomorrow from 12pm!

Who will become the newest EPT champion? Tune into PokerNews tomorrow to find out!

David Elyashar Eliminated in 9th Place (€20,100)

David Elyashar (left) gets eliminated.
David Elyashar (left) gets eliminated.

It didn't take to long for someone to make a move.

Hauke Heseding had raised to 50,000 before David Elyashar raised all in for 454,000 and Zimnan Ziyard made the call while Heseding folded.

Elyashar: {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Ziyard: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The flop was {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} which was more helpful to our chip leader and the {4-Diamonds} turn left Elyashar needing an ace or a jack to stay alive but the river was the {2-Clubs} - the ultimate blank and we have our final table set with Brit Zimnan Ziyard the massive chip leader.

Que Sera Sera: Sergey Serafimov Eliminated in 10th Place (€20,100)

Sergey Serafimov had raised to 50,000 preflop with not too much behind and Ioannis Taramas was tanking in the big blind. Finally he moved all in and Serafimov quickly called.

Serafimov: {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Taramas: {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Serafimov was slightly ahead but the chop looked reasonably likely, however the board came {9-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Taramas made two pair. We're down to just one table and we'll need one more player to be eliminated before play is over for the night.

Georgios Grigoropoulos Eliminated in 11th Place (€14,800)

Georgios Grigoropoulos moved all in from UTG for just under 300,000, Hauke Heseding in the next seat called and everyone else folded.

Grigoropoylos: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Heseding: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The board was {2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{J-Spades}{2-Clubs}{A-Spades} and Heseding is right up there with the chip leaders now.
