EPT Copenhagen Final Table Set: Ravn Leads, Petersen and Neuville Still in the Hunt

The PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Copenhagen experienced a rapid day of poker today. The remaining 24 players were whittled down to eight in a little more than seven hours of play.
The chips from the eliminated players had to go somewhere and the player who benefited the most was Aage Ravn who bagged up 2,450,000 chips, nearly a million clear of second place. His took care of Gerasimos Deres in 13th place when his pocket jacks held against the Swede’s ace-jack. From there he won two sizable pots, without showdown, versus Steve O’Dwyer. Then there was one of the three crucial hands that occurred to find the final table bubble boy.
Ravn went up against Keld Volquardsen in a three-bet pot. Ravn was the aggressor in the hand and picked off a “donk” over bet from the Dane to soar past the two million mark. That left Volquardsen with an average stack and he was soon short when he paid off Rasmussen’s river bet and was shown a set. All of a sudden he was all-in with ace-eight, called by Mickey Petersen with ace-queen, and out in 9th for 140,000 DKK.
One of the stories of today was that of what Michael Tureniec could do. It might’ve been mentioned once or twice that the EPT is still looking for its first double champion. The Swede was not only in with a great chance of being the first, but also the first to win two titles from the same stop, and the first to defend a title. It wasn’t to happen though as he fell in 11th place for 110,000 DKK.
There is so much talent still on show though. O’Dwyer has been on a heater the past six months winning more than $1.3million including a second place finish at EPT London for $726,790. Mickey “mement_mori” Petersen is an online phenomenon and as is hoping to make his mark in the live arena tomorrow representing Team PokerStars Online. Team PokerStars Pro Pierre Neuville has a second place to his name on an EPT and to win tomorrow will make his dreams come true.

Keld Volquardsen Eliminated in 9th Place (140,000 DKK)

The EPT Copenhagen Main Event has reached the final table after Keld Volquardsen imploded and lost one million chips in a single orbit.
The last of his chips, 193,000 of them, went into the middle holding 
and Team PokerStars Online Mickey Petersen made the call with a dominating 
. The 
not only kept Petersen in front but it extended his lead and left Volquardsen drawing to running eights. The 
on the turn was not one of them, locking up the hand for Petersen and by the time the 
fell on the turn Volquardsen had already stood from his chair and was in the process of shaking his former opponents' hands.
Another Backwards Step For Volquardsen
It has all gone so very wrong for Keld Volquardsen in the last few hands. The action folded around to Volquardsen in the small blind and he raised to 45,000. Jacob Rasmussen called in the big blind and the pair of them shared a flop of 
. Volquardsen bet 55,000 and Jacobson called. Then on the turn they both saw the 
and Volquardsen bet again - this time for 150,000 - and Rasmussen called. Finally, we saw the and Volquardsen checked to Rasmussen. The Dane went deep into his stack and emerged with 300,000 chips and thrust them across the line. Volquardsen called instantly and mucked as soon as he saw the 
of Rasmussen.
Volquardsen is now down to just under 200,000 from one million chips.

Volquardsen Misteps to Help Ravn Grip
Keld Volquardsen was caught "at it" by Aage Ravn and lost a large chunk of his stack.
He opened from mid position and called quickly when Ravn three-bet to 130,000 from the button. The flop fell 
and surprisingly Volquardsen led for 350,000, a big over-bet on the pot. Ravn took little time in moving all-in and he had no sweat as the look on Volquardsen's face changed to that of a five year old boy who had been caught by his mum stealing cookies from the jar. He folded and went to his bedroom to think about what he just done.

Spencer Hudson And His 10BB Finds Aces
Bjarke Hansen raised to 45,000 in mid position and Spencer Hudson moved all-in from the cutoff. Hansen made the call and we had a showdown between the top and bottom of the chip counts.
