Sahamies Doubles

Ilari Sahamies
Ilari Sahamies

Ilari Sahamies opened the hand raising to 325,000 and Joni Jouhkimainen re-raised to 700,000. Sahamies called and the two saw {8-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} come on the flop.

Jouhkimainen continued for 530,000 and Sahamies shoved all in. Joni called and both flipped their cards.

Showdown
Sahamies: {8-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}
Jouhkimainen: {K-Clubs} {K-Spades}

Sahamies was in the lead with two pair while Jouhkimainen needed help on either the turn or river. The {10-Diamonds} on the turn didn't change much, and neither did the {5-Diamonds} on the river.

Anaras Alekberovas Eliminated in 4th Place (€301,750)

Anaras Alekberovas
Anaras Alekberovas

Anaras Alekberovas was playing really well today, but that wasn't enough against Finland's rising star Joni Jouhkimainen. Alekberovas doubled up two times before, but the third time was not a charm for the young Lithuanian.

Jouhkimainen raised to 325,000 from the button, Alekberovas re-raised to 725,000 from the big blind, and Jouhkimainen four-bet to 1,175,000. Alekberovas announced an all-in and Jouhkimainen called. The Lithuanian was in for 4,535,000 along with his tournament life.

Showdown
Jouhkimainen: {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}
Alekberovas: {9-Spades} {9-Hearts}

Jouhkimainen's kings were in good shape against Alekberovas' nines, which needed some major help from the board. None came on the {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, and the {4-Diamonds} turn no help. It was down to the river for the Lithuanian, but the useless {Q-Diamonds} appeared.

Alekberovas was eliminated in fourth place and will collect €301,750 for the biggest tournament prize of his career.

Off to the Races

Joni Jouhkimainen opened for 320,000 under the gun with {K-Spades}{J-Hearts} only to have Anaras Alekberovas move all in from the small blind for 2.02 million with {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Jouhkimainen made the call, but he would not win as the board ran out {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

It was a much-needed double for the Lithuanian that put him in par with Mikalai Pobal and Ilari Sahamies.

Jouhkimainen Over 20MM

Ilari Sahamies raised to 250,000 on the button with {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and was met with a three-bet to 675,000 by Joni Jouhkimainen, who held {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs} in the small blind. Sahamies made the call and then fired out 600,000 when Jouhkimainen checked the {8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop.

Jouhkimainen took a moment and then quietly said, "I'm all in." Sahamies snap-folded and Jouhkimainen chipped up to over 20 million.
