Rettenmaier Fights Back

Fabian Quoss limped in on the button, Marvin Rettenmaier raised to 135,000, and Quoss called.

The flop fell {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, and Rettenmaier led out for 165,000. Quoss raised, making it 425,000, and Rettenmaier tanked before moving all in.

Quoss instantly mucked, and Rettenmaier raked in the pot.

The players have decided to forgo the break and play straight into Level 27.

Rettenmaier Evens Things Up

It's been slow going in the High Roller as of late, but we did just see one notable hand take place.

It began when Fabian Quoss limped the button and Marvin Rettenmaier checked his option in the big blind. The latter then check-called a bet of 75,000 on the {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop, and then turned right around and led out for 140,000 on the {7-Hearts} turn. Quoss made the call, the {6-Diamonds} peeled off on the river, and Rettenmaier fired out 260,000. It was enough to take down the pot as Quoss quickly released his hand.

POY Talk

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante
Dan Smith (Day 1) - Headed to Lebanon?
Dan Smith (Day 1) - Headed to Lebanon?

Dan Smith and Marvin Rettenmaier are neck-and-neck in a few Player of the Year races, and with a runner-up finish in this event, it looks like Rettenmaier will seize at least one of those titles.

Smith meandered to the table a few minutes ago, and Rettenmaier told him, "Please tell me you aren't playing in anything else after this."

Smith shook his head.

"If you were celebrating about winning, I would've probably played something just to spite you," he said. "There is a 10K in Lebanon on Christmas..."

"No," Rettenmaier corrected him. "That's in January."

Fabian Quoss threw his head back in laughter, and the heads-up match continued.

"Remember That Guy?"

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

On a break from another tournament, Marc-Andre Ladouceur made his way over to the High Roller final table to catch the action. While he was there, Quoss looked as him and asked with a smile, "Remember that guy who folded sevens?"

He was referring to a hand earlier in the tournament and Ladouceur said he remembered. "That's why I'm here," Quoss said with an even bigger smile. He then indicated that he had held a smaller pocket pair in that particular hand.

"That was Andrew Chen," Ladouceur said. "He's right over there. Should I go tell him?"
