Sands Busts Selbst; Commands Enormous Chip Lead

Vanessa Selbst - Eliminated
Vanessa Selbst - Eliminated

David Sands opened to 64,000 from the hijack seat, and Vanessa Selbst called in the cutoff. The flop fell {j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Sands led out for 84,000, and Selbst raised to 233,000. Sands called.

The turn was the {q-Clubs}, Sands checked, and Selbst fired 347,000. Sands called.

The river was the {5-Clubs}, and Sands checked again. Selbst moved all in for 1.2 million, and Sands instantly snapped it off.

Selbst showed {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for just a pair of fives, but Sands had that crushed with {a-Clubs}{2-Spades} for an ace-high flush. Selbst is out, while Sands now has a barn-sized chip lead with 5.6 million chips.

The players are now on a 15-minute break.

Troyanovsky Picks Up Cowboys At Mercier's Expense

We're not sure of the betting as we arrived too late, but we do know that Vladimir Troyanovsky just doubled through Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier. The latter was in the small blind holding ace-ten, while the former had his stack of 370,000 in the middle from the big with {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}.

The board ran out {J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Mercier was left with just four big blinds after the hand.

ShaKK

Dan Shak opened for 70,000 under the gun and picked up one call, Vladimir Troyanovsky on the button. The {7-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop saw Troyanovsky called a bet of 100,000, and then Shak simply announced that he was all in on the {2-Clubs} turn. Troyanovsky, who had a little over 400K behind, thought long and hard before releasing his hand.

Shak then rolled over {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.
