Presto: We Have a Final Table

24 players returned to Atlantis' Imperial Ballroom this afternoon to decide which eight of them would earn the right to play for the title on Monday and a $2.2 million grand prize.

High stakes tournament regulars Robert Mizrachi, Jeff Madsen and Praz Bansi all joined the rail on Day 5, leaving Barry Shulman and Ryan D'Angelo the most recognizable names on the final table's cast of characters list.

Shulman, owner of CardPlayer magazine, won the WSOP Europe main event back in October and with 6,805,000 in chips heading into the final table, he's got a legitimate opportunity to add another impressive title to his list of accolades.

D'Angelo, who's owned the chip lead for all but about one level of play over the last couple of days, won two WCOOP events on PokerStars during the most recent series under the screenname 'g0lfa.' D'Angelo bagged a field-leading 10,090,000 in chips this evening and will return tomorrow afternoon as the final table's chip leader.

Not far behind D'Angelo is American Ty Reiman, who, to be quite honest, is very fortunate to be at the final table. In a very pivotal hand late in the day, Reiman got it all in before the flop holding pocket queens against the pocket aces of John Duthie in what was a T10 million chip pot. Reiman managed to spike a third queen on the flop to avoid elimination, crippling Duthie in the process. Reiman looks to make the most of the opportunity, coming to the final table with a second-best 9.35 million in chips.

Action resumes at 12:00 noon local time when our eight finalists embark on the home stretch.

Matthew Haugen Eliminated in 9th Place ($150,000)

First into the pot, Matthew Haugen shoved all in once again, this time pushing 870,000 chips across the line. When action came to Barry Shulman, he announced an all-in reraise of his own. Haugen's reaction hinted that he knew he was in bad shape, and indeed he was.

. That's safe for Shulman, and he's picked up the final knockout of the day. Haugen is out in 9th place, earning himself the unfortunate title of final table bubble boy.

Little action has unfolded since the final nine players have merged to form one final table. Barry Shulman won a considerably large pot in the opening minutes, but otherwise it's been relatively silent on the feature table stage.

With Keyes elimination in 10th place, the field has been whittled down to just one table of nine. This redraw is an important one, as the eight who survive the rest of tonight's action will return to the same seats for tomorrow's final table. Here's how they're laid out:

Darren Keyes Eliminated in 10th Place ($150,000)

Talk about a crazy ROI. Darren Keyes found his way to the PCA using just 75 FPP's on PokerStars. He earned $150,000 in prize money for his 10th place finish, meaning his estimated ROI (according to a Stars insider) is 12.5 million percent. Here's how Keyes was eliminated from the tournament:

Benjamin Zamani opened with a raise to 180,000 from under the gun. Action then folded around the table to Keyes in the cutoff who moved all in for 930,000. Next to act, Barry Shulman cold-called Keyes' shove and Zamani folded, prompting a preflop heads-up showdown between Shulman and Keyes:

Dimitri Hefter Eliminated in 11th Place ($130,000)

Dimitri Hefter came in for a raise to 180,000 from the cutoff seat, and Harrison Gimbel moved all in from the big blind. Hefter was covered by his opponent, so the decision was for his tournament life. He eventually called, putting his final 1.92 million chips into the pot, now all in and at risk.
