Shak Bites Selbst

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

On the button, Tyler Kenney raised to 140,000. Vanessa Selbst called from the small blind, and Dan Shak came along as well to go three-handed to the flop.

It was {8-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}, and the blinds checked to the raiser. Kenney continued out with a small bet of 160,000. That didn't work; Selbst and Shak both wasted little time calling, and the {9-Diamonds} came on the turn. Selbst checked again, and Shak decided to fire 200,000 at the pot from the big blind. Kenney folded quickly, but Selbst took pause for a couple minutes before check-raising to 750,000 total, a significant chunk of her remaining stack. Shak called without any delay.

The river was the {K-Spades} and Selbst checked. Shak took just a minute to make sure before announcing an all in, and Selbst mucked just as quickly as he'd called her one street earlier.

That was a big blow to Selbst, taking half her stack and knocking her all the way back to 1.27 million.

Shak is on the attack, stacking up 6.96 million chips with well over 50% of the total in play.

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante
Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

First in from the small blind, Tyler Kenney completed, then called an additional 135,000 when Vanessa Selbst raised from the big. Kenney called again, and the dealer spread out a {7-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {J-Spades} flop. Kenney checked and called a continuation bet of 155,000, and the {3-Clubs} dropped on fourth street. Kenney checked it again, and this time Selbst checked behind. That brought them to the {4-Hearts} river, and Kenney continued to stay passive with one last check. Selbst decided a bet was in order, and she made it 365,000 to see her cards.

It was too expensive. Kenney mucked after about two minutes, and Selbst claws her way up to 2.325 million. That leaves Kenney with 3.78 million.

From under the gun, Tyler Kenney raised to 140,000. Dan Shak called from the small blind and then Vincent Rubianes reraised all in from the big blind for 155,000. Kenney and Shak both called the extra 15,000.

Neither of those came as the {K-Diamonds} landed and gave Kenney trip kings. He won the pot to move to 3.68 million while Rubianes hit the exit in fifth place for $90,000.
