A Champion Will Be Crowned Today!

Welcome back for the final day of the Harrah’s Rincon Main Event! We had a short day yesterday, as 43 players became our final nine in just eight hours. Leading the way today is Edmund Liu, who bagged up 1.56 million. Liu scored the biggest cash of his career in August when he won the $125 re-entry at the Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino for $56,320, and he will be looking to top that today!

Not far behind is a name that everyone knows: Soi Nguyen. Nguyen is of course famous for finishing 9th at the 2010 Main event for $811,823, and he proved that he wasn't a fluke when he finished runner up to James Dempsey at the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December of last year. He comes into today with 1.338 million.

These two are at the top of the list, but they will also have to worry about LA pro Lynda Tran, as well as David Randall, who has a shot at securing the most points of the series here at Rincon. That would earn him an automatic bid into the WSOP National Championship next summer. Jonathan Chehanske also has a shot at it, so these two will be keeping a close eye on each other!

Play is scheduled to get underway at noon local time, and we will be play until we have a winner! Stay tuned here to Pokernews, as we get ready to bring you all of the action!
