Greg Haubner opened to 1,500 in late position, and a short-stacked player moved all in on his direct left. The action folded back to Haubner, who called, and the hands were opened:

The board ran out , and Haubner increased his stack to around 50,000 chips.
Faced with an early position open, Shawn Van Asdale, who has already made a final table here at Harvey's Lake Tahoe, three-bet to 2,500 in late position. Ting Ho, who also made a final table this week, four-bet to 6,000 on his direct left, and the original raiser folded. Van Asdale responded with a five-bet to 14,500. Ho moved all in, and after a moment for thought, Van Asdale called, putting himself at risk.

The kings held as the board ran out , doubling Van Asdale to over 50,000 chips.
Ho won an all in a few hands later, but is still down to around 10,000.
Facing a raise to 900 and three callers, David Williams moved all in for 4,325 from the big blind. Two of the players called, and checked it down as the board ran out .
Or so it seemed.
Williams, who also thought both players checked on the river, tabled . The original raiser then fired out a bet, which confused everyone. The player opted not to call, being unable to beat Williams' hand, and folded.
The original raiser turned over for an ace-high flush, eliminating Williams from the tournament.
With Day 1a in the books, we will now shift our focus to Day 1b. There's currently 15 minutes left in Level 6, and after this level the players will be taking a break.
