Kirk Picked Off On RIver

Tripp Kirk raised to 300,000 on the button, and Ryan Riess reraised to 530,000 from the big blind. The flop came down {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, and Riess led for 615,000. Kirk called.

The turn card was the {10-Spades} to pair the board. Riess bet 1.26 million, and Kirk made the call once more.

The river was the {Q-Diamonds} to complete the board. Riess checked, and Kirk bet two million. Riess quickly called.

"Jack high," said Kirk.

Riess then showed the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} for a pair of kings, and Kirk mucked his hand.

Tripp Kirk mulling over a decision
Tripp Kirk mulling over a decision

Hand 1: Tripp Kirk opened to 300,000 on the button, Ryan Riess defended his big blind, and the dealer fanned {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Riess checked, Kirk continued for 250,000, and Riess called.

Both players checked on the turn ({5-Diamonds}), and the river ({5-Spades}).

"Nothing," Riess announced.

Kirk tabled {4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for a pair of deuces and won the pot.

"I was calling river," Kirk said, smiling.

Hand 2: Ryan Riess was on the button and raised to 285,000. Tripp Kirk three-bet to 635,000 from the small blind, and Riess responded with a four-bet to 1.2 million. Kirk called.

The flop was {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, and Kirk checked. Riess slid forward 1.5 million, and Kirk immediately folded.

Hand 3: Tripp Kirk opened to 300,000 on the button, Josh Williams called, and the flop came down {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Williams led for 260,000, and Kirk called.

Both players checked after the {k-Spades} turned, and the river was the {6-Spades}. Williams led again - this time for 555,000 - and Kirk tank-called. Williams tabled {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, and won the pot.

Big Three-Handed Preflop Action

There hasn't been much action three handed, but the players seemed to wake up a little bit on this one. That, or their cards called for the action.

From the button, Tripp Kirk raised to 300,000 to kick things off. Josh Williams was in the small blind, and he reraised to 580,000. Ryan Riess then made it 915,000 to go from the big blind before action fell back on Kirk.

Kirk was the one who started all of this action with his opening raise, and he decided to go a bit higher with another raise. He made it 1.9 million to go before ducking his head to the table as if to say, "I don't want to watch." Williams took some time, but wound up folding his hand. Riess didn't take too long before he six-bet to 3.3 million.

Kirk picked his head up from the table upon hearing the amount of the reraise from the dealer. Within a few seconds, he folded, and Riess won the pot.

Williams Extends Lead

Tripp Kirk opened to 300,000 on the button, Josh Williams called out of the small blind, and the flop fell {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Williams checked, Kirk continued for 250,000, and Williams called.

The turn was the {q-Spades}, and Williams checked again. Kirk tossed 650,000 forward, and Williams quickly called.

The {4-Hearts} completed the board, and both players checked. Williams tabled {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}, and Kirk, who was clearly displeased with Williams' call on the flop, unhappily mucked his hand.

Big Move By Kirk

Picking up the action on the turn, Tripp Kirk checked the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} board, and Josh Williams fired 380,000. Kirk put in a check-raise to 1.3 million, but that wasn't enough to get the job done as Williams came back over the top with a reraise to 2.22 million. Kirk then made it 3.2 million to go, and Williams folded. Kirk showed the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for ace high.

Sean Szurko Eliminated in 4th Place ($137,088)

Sean Szurko - 3rd place
Sean Szurko - 3rd place

On the very first hand after Zal Irani was eliminated, the action folded to Ryan Riess who raised to 275,000 from the small blind. Sean Szurko moved all in from the big blind, and Riess made the call.

Riess: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Szurko: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}

Riess clapped after the flop came {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Only running spades or running straight cards would save Szurko. The turn was the {q-Hearts}, ending the hand, and the {k-Diamonds} completed the board.

Szurko was eliminated in fourth place, earning $137,088.
