Denise Molloy is the only female to reach the final two tables of Event #19 ($2,500 No-Limit Hold'em), and her sister, Steph Phenix, is watching closely from the rail.
Phenix mentions that they made the final table together in the Ladies Event at San Diego Rincon earlier this year. At the time, they were trying to negotiate a deal for who gets the money, and who gets the prize ring. Unfortunately, the other players at the table had objections to that deal (which would leave them nothing), and neither of the sisters won the event.
Now that her sister is playing for a bracelet, Phenix still wants to talk about a deal. "Denise, if you win, do I get the money, or the bracelet?"
Mike Matusow raises from late position to 31,000, and Alex Outhred calls from the big blind. The flop comes , and both players check. The turn card is the , Outhred bets 55,000, and Matusow calls. The river card is the , Outhred checks, and Matusow checks behind. Outhred shows the nuts -- for the ace-high flush. Matusow mucks, saying he had a king.
Mike Matusow has been very vocal in his dislike of the black-curtained final table used for the official webcasts. The players are sequestered to keep the revealed hold cards from potentially affecting the action, and the curtains keep the fans and media from seeing any of the excitement. Matusow felt cheated of a chance to watch Hellmuth's victory. As much as he berates Hellmuth at the table, the two are friends.
Matusow has apparently mentioned the possibility of boycotting the sequestered final table, and asking the other final tablists to do the same. (This assumes that he makes it to the final nine, of course.)
Denise Molloy moves all in from middle position for 114,000, and Mike Matusow calls from the big blind with Q-Q. Molloy shows , and she'll need to improve to survive.
