Going The Wrong Direction

Phil Hellmuth doubled up recently and after only a few hands, his chip stack has begun to dwindle down.

Barny Boatman, Phil Hellmuth, and another player called to see the flop.

Flop: {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

Boatman led out for 5,000 and Phil called. The {4-Diamonds} fell on the turn and both players checked. The {3-Hearts} peeled off on the river and Boatman made it 8,000 and Phil called. Boatman showed pocket nines and Hellmuth was outraged at the flop, as he held pocket tens. Hellmuth is down to 22,000.

Looking To Make it 63

Phil Hellmuth, Jr
Phil Hellmuth, Jr
After a run of bad hands and amazing folds, Phil Hellmuth was down to 14,400 in chips. With only 21 players left before the cash is reached, Phil Hellmuth raised to 8,000 preflop. Another player moved all in on top and Phil called. Phil showed A-Q while his opponent showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

The flop brought two diamonds, but the turn and river were no help to his opponent and Phil doubled up. Phil is currently at 31,000 and 21 eliminations away from making it a record 63 cashes.
