More Split Pots

Omaha-8

John Cernuto just split one with Pappas, but moments prior Yueqi Zhu was showing signs of frustration when his A-A-2-x flopped a set of aces and turned the low draw, but was counterfeited by a two on the river to prevent the scoop. "This is ridiculous," he grumbled.

Pappas Doubles Up

Stud-8

Greg Pappas has doubled up courtesy of John Racener.

All in on sixth street, they very slowly turned over their last down cards, and Pappas scooped it thus:

Pappas: {8-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {5-Spades}
Racener: {J-Hearts} {2-Spades} {9-Spades} {4-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {J-Spades} {4-Diamonds}

Racener, in a much better mood now that his stack is back above the 300,000 mark, took the beat well. There is a most pleasant atmosphere of camaraderie at this final table currently.

Pappas over 200,000 now.

Daniel Mowczan Eliminated in 7th for $28,557

Omaha-8

The next short stack to bite the dust is Daniel Mowczam. He found himself virtually all in from the start against the combined forces of John Racener and Tom Chambers.

On a flop of {J-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}, Chambers bet out, Mowczam called all in for just 8,000 and Racener called.

The two remaining players then checked the {J-Diamonds} turn before Racener bet out the {10-Spades} river. Chambers folded, regretting his decision to check the turn, whilst Racener showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} for the Broadway straight.

Mowczam lay {A-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} onto the felt, but it wasn't enough and he was gone in 7th after a plucky display.

Pappas Still In

Omaha-8

Pappas raises from the cutoff (incidentally preventing Mowczan in the button from making it all in three hands in a row) and John Cernuto in the big blind calls.

Pappas, by now very short, bets the {K-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {3-Spades} flop and Cernuto folds. Pappas laughs and says, "That's all I wanna show you..." turning over {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts}.

Mowczan Hanging On By the Skin of His Teeth

Omaha-8

A desperately short-stacked Daniel Mowczan was all in two hands in a row from first the big blind and then the small. Both times he found a caller in John Cernuto, but both times they ended up chopping the pot (although at one point Mowczan misread his hand and was standing up to leave before someone pointed out that his two pair won the high and he shoudl sit back down).

All in from the big blind:
Mowczan: {J-Spades} {K-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}
Cernuto: {A-Clubs} {K-Spades} {6-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}
Board: {2-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {4-Clubs}

All in from the small blind:
Mowczan: {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}
Cernuto: {7-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {3-Hearts}
Board: {J-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}

Michael Mizrachi Eliminated in 8th for $24,095

Stud-8

With the blinds increasing to gargantuan proportions, it was only inevitable that players would evenutally start to drop. The first player to suffer is Michael Mizrachi, who exits this final table in 8th place at the hands of Yueqi Zhu.

Mizrachi {7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} with {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Zhu = {4-Clubs}{A-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Spades} with {Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Mizrachi begged for a low card on the river, but it failed to emerge, Zhu's pair of sixes in the hole enough to send The Grinder home.

Pappas Smirk

When asked if they wanted to color up their orange 1,000 chips, Greg Pappas raised a paw and said, "Me please."

Sadly, Greg Pappas only has the one orange chip and won't be eligible for the color up. "Wait," he added, "I've already done a good job of getting rid of them myself."
