Sam Grizzle Eliminated

Sam Grizzle - Eliminated
Sam Grizzle - Eliminated
After seeing a flop of {Q-?} {7-?} {3-?} with two diamonds, Sam Grizzle moved all in with the {K-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds}. Grizzle got action by a player holding {8-?} {8-?} and when the turn and river fell an {A-?} and a {2-?} with no diamonds, Grizzle was sent packing.

Tom McEvoy Eliminated

Tom McEvoy played his hand for a raise and took a flop of {10-?} {7-?} {6-?} with one other player.

McEvoy got all his chips in the middle and was way behind holding {J-?} {10-?} against the {6-?} {6-?} of his opponent.

The turn and river blanked and McEvoy hit the rail.

Antonius Stays Active

Patrik Antonius
Patrik Antonius
With the board reading {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {9-Hearts}, Patrik Antonius checked over to his lone opponent Christina Hall. Hall bet 2,500 and Antonius raised to 6,500.

Hall called and the {6-Spades} hit the river. Antonius led out for 9,000 and got a quick call from Hall. Hall showed {Q-Hearts} {10-Spades} but couldn't beat Antonius' {A-Spades} {3-Spades}.

After stacking the pot, Antonius is now sitting on a stack of about 105,000.

Luck Isn't Always with the Ladies

If I have one piece of advice for people playing in the World Series of Poker Main Event, it's this -- try not to run your big pairs into aces. Just don't do it. It's not gonna work out well for you (well, it's not gonna work out well about four out of every five times it happens). It didn't work out for Charlie Ward, as his queens ran into another player's aces and the bullets held up. Ward was left with just 4,675 after the hand.

Not So Bueno

Eddy Bueno has been eliminated from the tournament and has left the Amazon Room. He ran his {A-?}{7-?} into an opponent's {A-?}{K-?} and couldn't make it work.

The River is Kind to Haralabos

After a {J-Clubs} {7-Spades} {4-Clubs} flop Haralabos Voulgaris called an opponent's 4,700 all-in holding {8-Clubs} {5-Clubs} to his opponent's {A-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}. Voulgaris picked up a double-gutter draw when the {9-Hearts} turned, but it was the flush draw that got there as the {2-Clubs} fell on the river. Voulgaris is now up to 41,000.

James Shot With His Own Bullets

Kenna James is down but not out
Kenna James is down but not out
Kenna James was all in preflop hold the best hand he could have, {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}. The other player in the hand had {8-Diamonds} {8-Hearts}. James had the player covered and was looking to gain some chips. The board ran out {4-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {8-Spades} {J-Hearts} and James' opponent made a full house to suck out on James.

James said, "It took me seven hours and twenty-six minutes to get that hand."

James dropped to 6,250.

Do the Hustle

David Robinson and Yves Dupuis really hustled the satellites online for the Main Event. Robinson took down 11 satellites while Dupuis took down three. Any unused satellite seat is worth at least 10,000 in cold hard cash.
