Event 11 - $2,000 No Limit Hold'em

Day 1 Completed

Day 1 Completed; Bagging and Tagging is Underway

Hall - chip leader
Hall - chip leader
Well, it looks as though we'll be coming back tomorrow with 243 runners and only 171 of them are going to get paid, so all in all we reckon it's going to be a long day.

Nevertheless it should be interesting. We still have veterans T.J Cloutier and Tom Franklin in the field, as well as the today surprisingly quiet Phil Hellmuth, who is expected to get louder as the money approaches.

Currently leading the field is whippersnapper Scott Hall on 144,000, closely tailed by equally youthful Alex Millar on 135,000. With a few other players on around the 100,000 mark as well and the verge stack still eminently playable owing to the generous structure and chunky starting stacks, it's really still anyone's game.

Join us back at the Rio tomorrow from 2pm to see who makes the money, and who makes a swift exit instead.

Brancato Binks

A last minute bit of luck for Nick Brancato. He got his chips in with {A-?} {Q-?} against an opponent's pocket kings, and it was looking pretty grim for him all the way down to the river, which rather brightened his mood and doubled him up to 60,000.

Board: {9-?} {J-?} {9-?} {4-?} {A-?}

Almost Done

The clock has been stopped and they're playing the very last few hands of the night. It looks as though we have ourselves a new chip leader by a whisker, too. Current enormo-stacks include:

Scott Hall: as of right now our chip leader on 153,000
Alex Millar: 145,000
Bobby Bresner: 115,000

Liu Loses

Eric Liu is busto. The exact details of the hand are hazy, but he was overheard muttering, "I should have just folded..." as he made his exit.

Great Scott

A hairy few moments for Scott Hall, but ultimately a double up as his {A-Clubs} {K-Spades} stayed good against his opponent's {A-Hearts} {2-Hearts} down the {7-Hearts} {3-Spades} {6-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} board. He's up to 90,000 or so after that.

New Chip Leader

Yes indeedy, someone has knocked Thanh Chau off the top spot, and that someone is Alex Millar. He is currently master of a whopping 148,000 in chips, roughly four and a half times the average.
