Vanessa Rousso Eliminated

Vanessa Rousso did not enjoy her time here in the Brasilia Room this afternoon. After a recent hand against Daniel Alaei, she doesn't have to worry about spending any more time here.

Rousso opened all in for 3,500 from the button. Alaei was in the small blind. he called and drew one. Rousso drew two. Alaei showed down J-7-6-5-3. Rousso was holding 10-9-2 and drew a queen and another ten.

"This is the most painful tournament I ever played. I'm so glad it's over," said Rousso as she gathered her things.

Grey Doubles through Doyle

Texas Dolly took a shot at eliminating an opponent. It just didn't work out in his favor. Doyle Brunson reraised to 6,000 from late position after David Grey opened with a raise to 1,300. Grey called all in for 5,225 total and drew one card. Brunson elected to stand pat with 10-8-7-5-4 to see if Grey could make his draw. With 9-6-5-4 in his hand, Grey squeezed out his draw card... and found a deuce to stay alive in the tournament. He doubled up to about 11,000.

LOL Clockaments

Chino Rheem made it 1,500 to go from the hijack seat and Gus Hansen reraised to 8,000 from the small blind.

As Rheem thought over his decision, Greg Mueller (now sitting in John Hennigan's old seat) called the clock in jest, causing the entire table to bust up in laughter.

Rheem ultimately folded and is down to 22,000 while Hansen is up to 77,000.

Good Life for Ivey

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey's still running good after his $2,500 Deuce-to-Seven Draw victory a week ago. He opened to 1,500 from middle position and was called in three spots. David Grey, Doyle Brunson, and Johnny Chan each drew one card Ivey drew two.

After the draw, all players checked to Chan, who bet 4,000. Grey and Ivey both called. Chan showed down 9-8-6-4-2. It was a hand that was better than Grey's but worse than Ivey's 9-8-4-3-2. Ivey collected a pot worth roughly 19,000 chips.

Harmetz Caught in the Snow

Amnon Filippi raised to 700, Phil Hellmuth called, and Dan Harmetz three-bet to 7,100. Filippi folded and Hellmuth called. Hellmuth drew one while Harmetz stood pat.

Harmetz checked, but Hellmuth checked behind. Hellmuth showed K-5-4-3-2 but Harmetz couldn't beat it, his attempt at a snow with a pair of sixes ending in failure.

Hellmuth dragged the pot and is currently on 25,000 in chips.

Jennifer Harman Eliminated

Jen Harman

Jennifer Harman was all in after the draw, while Jon "Pearljammer" Turner and Layne Flack continued betting on the side. Turner fired out 16,000 and after a lengthy tank, Flack gave up his hand.

Turner showed J-T-9-7-2 while Harman mucked and hit the rail. After the hand, Turner's stack was up to 80,000.

Billy Baxter Eliminated

Billy Baxter's lowball credentials were unable to bail him out of a tough spot against Greg Raymer. Baxter moved all in for 6,900 from the cutoff and was called by small blind Chino Rheem. Raymer was in the big blind and quickly moved all in for 26,250.

Rheem tanked for what seemed like ages. In reality it was probably three or four minutes. He finally mucked what he later said was 10-6. On the draw, Raymer was pat, prompting Baxter to draw two. Raymer showed down 9-7-4-3-2. Baxter took a quick look at his cards and then flipped them into the muck. He's out.

Donkeybomber Bombs Out

The post-dinner eliminations are coming a bit quicker than we anticipated. Tom Schneider is the next player to go. He called all in for 1,850 after Andy Bloch opened to 2,000. Ville Wahlbeck also called.

On the draw, Wahlbeck took one, Bloch rapped pat and Schneider took one. It was Wahlbeck who dragged the pot with 10-8, besting Bloch's 10-9 and Schneider, who bricked his draw.

Lisandro with the Four-Bet

After having his initial raise three-bet by David Williams, Jeffrey Lisandro made it 16,100 to go. Williams made the call and drew one while Lisandro rapped pat.

Lisandro immediately moved all in after the draw, Williams showing the {A-Clubs} as he mucked his hand.

Lisandro is up to 53,000 while Williams is left with 18,000.

Bloch Bulldozes Ivey

Andy Bloch
Andy Bloch
Power Poker on Table 202. Doyle Brunson (owner of 10 WSOP bracelets) opened the button to 1,700. Andy Bloch reraised to 6,000. Then the big blind, Phil Ivey (owner of 6 WSOP bracelets) put in a third raise to 18,000, just less than half his stack.

Ivey's raise folded Brunson, but not Bloch. Bloch (owner of 0.93 gold bracelets) powered over the top of Ivey's raise by moving all in for 37,275. Ivey folded.
