Moving Along

The table is playing fast now, and the dealer can barely keep up with the action. Here are the last three relatively uninteresting hands:

First, Alex Jacob raised to 125,000 in early position. Two seats over, Richard Lutes reraised to 375,000. When it came back to the afro, he asked for a count on Lutes. His opponent had exactly 1,000,000 chips, and that was all Jacob wanted to know; he folded.

On the next hand, action folded all the way around the table, and Brandon Cantu got a walk in the big blind. He clenched his fists and flung his cards into the muck face-up: {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts}.

With Cantu in the small blind next hand, he opened for a raise to 200,000. Alex Jacob didn't have anything to play with. He showed {2-?} {3-?} and mucked.

A Small One for Alex

Alex Jacob opened to 125,000 from middle position, and Chairud Vangchailued came along from the big blind.

The board ran out {9-Spades} {K-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {3-Hearts}. On the flop and turn, both players checked. The river saw Vangchailued check once again, and a bet of 150,000 was good enough to win Jacob the pot.

Tyler Spalding - 1,270,000

Cantu Moves Up Uncontested

Brandon Cantu has opened the last three pots, first to 150,000, then the last two to 160,000. It's been good enough to win him the blinds and antes each time, and he's increased his stack by 345,000 over those three uncontested hands.

Vangchailued and Spalding Trade Places

With the action folded around to the blinds, Chairud Vangchailued limped in from the small, and Tyler Spalding announced a raise from the big. He put out another 150,000, and Vangchailued matched it.

Heads up, the flop came {A-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}. Vangchailued checked, and Spalding quickly announced, "All in." His opponent nodded and sputtered an, "I call," fumbling to flip over his {A-Spades} {8-Hearts}. Spalding shook his head and tabled his {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}.

The turn and river bricked off with the {7-Hearts} and {10-Diamonds} respectively, and the man with the long name gets a huge double up. He had 635,000 behind his all in, and his stack has now swelled to 1,710,000.

Foley Not Backing Down

In the first pot back from dinner, Alex Jacob opened from early position with a raise to 125,000. Right next to him, Ray Foley reraised to 350,000. After the table folded around, Jacob tried to engage Foley in a little chit-chat before shaking his head and mucking his two cards.

Foley is not to be messed with.
