Setback for Wahlbeck

It's not good if you're the short stack and you're losing pots. Ville Wahlbeck brought it in with the {10-Diamonds}

and was called by Freddie Ellis with an {A-Spades}

. Ellis had the betting lead on all streets [ (X-X) / {A-Spades}

] but opted to check-call fifth street and sixth street against Wahlbeck's board of (X-X) / {10-Diamonds}

.

Both players checked the river. Wahlbeck produced {6-Hearts}

as his hole cards for two pair, tens and sixes, but Ellis had him beat with {A-Diamonds}

, two pair aces and fives.

. Pescatori drew into two pair, jacks and nines, by sixth street, but Wahlbeck made queens and eights on the river. Pescatori sweated out his own river card, but did not improve with the {2-Hearts}

With his fourth place elimination, Pescatori will pick up $107,959. We're also down to the final three competitors.

Hasan Habib Eliminated in 5th Place ($80,969)

Nothing went right for Hasan Habib after dinner. He was second in chips when dinner started, with a touch more than 1 million. Now he's out in fifth place, a victim of a tough string of unkind boards.

On his final hand, Habib completed the {J-Hearts}

after Ville Wahlbeck brought it in and Eric Drache limped the {10-Diamonds}

. Only Drache called. In fact, Drache called all the way to sixth street, where he raised {10-Spades}

/

to put Habib all in. Habib called with {A-Diamonds}

/

and found himself looking for one of the two remaining tens. His river was not a ten; it was the {K-Clubs}

.

Habib's reward for fifth place is $80,969.

Pescatori Doubles Up

Things aren't getting any easier for Max Pescatori here, but he did just get a double-up without having to sweat it. It was a four-way un-completed pot on fourth street. Pescatori bet (X-X) / {9-Hearts}

, driving out Freddie Ellis, then bet again on fifth with the {4-Hearts}

, driving out Eric Drache. That left only Hasan Habib in the pot. The boards at sixth street were:

Habib: (X-X) / {10-Clubs}

Pescatori: (X-X) / {9-Hearts}

Pescatori moved all in for his last 28,000, drawing a call from Habib. It turned out that Habib was drawing dead against Pescatori's made heart flush, {3-Hearts}

in the hole.

Another Pot to Freddie

It's like there's a chip magnet underneath Freddie Ellis' spot at the table. He raised Hasan Habib on fifth street in one pot, (X-X) / {2-Diamonds}

for Ellis against Habib's (X-X) / {Q-Diamonds}

, then took that pot down on the river with a bet that induced a fold from Habib.

A few hands later, Ellis was at it again, making trip eights against Eric Drache's aces-up. Drache was distracted during the hand by an ESPN tech crew member, who seemed very concerned about a cup of coffee that Drache had placed on the rail of the table.

In any event, your chip leader is Freddie Ellis, and it's not close.
