Demes Takes First Big Pot of Heads up

Level 25 : 13,000/25,000, 0 ante

Brandon Demes raised in the small blind, and Tyler Bonkowski called. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{a-Clubs}, and Bonkowski check raised Demes. Demes called, and the turn came the {5-Hearts}. Bonkowski bet, and Demes called. The river brought the {j-Hearts}, and Bonkowski bet again, but this time, Demes raised. Bonkowski folded relatively quickly, and Demes took the pot to gain the chip lead.

Andrew Brongo Eliminated in 3rd Place ($100,198)

Level 25 : 13,000/25,000, 0 ante
Andrew Brongo
Andrew Brongo

Its hands like this that remind us just how cruel a game poker can me. Andrew Brongo has just been eliminated by Brandon Demes in what can only be called a super-super sick cooler.

Brongo raised from the button, and Demes called from the small blind. The flop came {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, and Demes bet. Brongo called, and the turn was the {a-Hearts}. From here, the fireworks set off like the 4th of July. Demes bet, and Brongo raised. Demes reraised, and Brongo put in a fourth bet. Demes called, and the river came the {10-Diamonds}. Demes checked, and Brongo bet. Demes raised, and Brongo reraised. Demes put in yet another bet, and Brongo snatched his chips, looked up to the sky, and capped the betting by calling all in.

Demes: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Brongo: {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Brongo had turned the full house, but Demes rivered a better full house, and Brongo was eliminated in brutal fashion. Brongo handled himself very well, shaking hands with both players, and the floorman before going to collect his six figure payday.

Shawn Keller Crippled, Eliminated in 4th Place ($74,171)

Level 25 : 13,000/25,000, 0 ante
Shawn Keller
Shawn Keller

Not long after Shawn Keller doubled up, he has lost two consecutive hands, and has been eliminated. Most of the damage was done in a hand against Andrew Brongo. On a flop of {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{k-Clubs}, Brongo bet, and Keller raised. Brongo called, and the turn came the {7-Clubs}. Brongo bet, and Keller called, and the same occured on the river, the {6-Hearts}. Brongo showed {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, and Keller was knocked down to 30,000.

Those chips went in on the next hand, and Brandon Demes was the only caller.

Demes: {k-Spades}{3-Spades}
Keller: {j-Clubs}{8-Spades}
The flop came {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, keeping Demes in the lead. The turn brought the {3-Clubs}, giving Demes trips, but Keller a flush draw. The river came the {7-Spades}, and Keller was knocked out as our fourth place finisher.

Keller Rides Rollercoaster to Double Up

We just mentioned that Shawn Keller would be all in soon, and sure enough, he got all his chips in preflop in a raising war with Brandon Demes. The players flipped their cards up, and Keller was in great shape.

Demes: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Keller: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The flop was a disaster for Keller as it came {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Needing a ten to survive, Keller didn't get it on the turn, as it came the {7-Spades}. However, Keller came roaring back on the river, as it came the {10-Diamonds}, giving Keller his three outer and a double up to 200,000.

Slow Action

Level 25 : 13,000/25,000, 0 ante

Action since the break hasn't been too exciting. We've had two pots get to the river, only to be chopped up. Shawn Keller is getting very short, and should be all in soon.
