Wesley Pantling Eliminated in 3rd Place ($317,136)

Level 27 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Wesley Pantling - 3rd place
Wesley Pantling - 3rd place

Wesley Pantling had seen his stack gradually dwindle down to just under 1.2 million when he opened with a raise to 95,000 from the button. Justin Filtz folded from the small blind, then Matt Jarvis quickly announced he was reraising all in. Pantling thought for about 20 seconds, then made the call.

Jarvis {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Pantling {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The flop came {K-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, and Pantling was still in front. But the {Q-Hearts} fell on the turn, swinging the advantage to Jarvis. An ace or ten would save Pantling, but the river brought the {6-Spades} and he's out in third.

We're heads up!

Dealer Appreciation

Level 27 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Our tournament director who is announcing the action just gave a shoutout to those watching the live stream over on the WSOP.com site.

"Follow your favorite players," he said as encouragement to watch. "And follow your favorite dealers, too!" The crowd gathered here at the main stage chuckled. "Mine, of course is Doug," added the TD, and Doug, our current dealer, smiled in acknowledgement of the support.

More For Jarvis

Level 27 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Matt Jarvis opened to 80,000 on the button, and Justin Filtz defended his big blind. Both players checked the {5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop, and after the {5-Hearts} paired the board on the turn, Filtz checked again. Jarvis tossed out 85,000, and Filtz quickly called.

The river was the {7-Spades}, both players checked again, and the hands were opened.

Jarvis: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Filtz: {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

Jarvis' nine played, and he took down the pot.

A Pair for Jarvis

Level 27 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Matt Jarvis raised to 85,000 from the button, Wesley Pantling folded, then Justin Filtz made it 240,000 from the big blind. Jarvis paused just a beat, then made the call.

The flop came {4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Filtz bet 250,000, and Jarvis called. Both then checked the {6-Clubs} turn and {9-Spades} river.

Filtz showed {A-}{K-} for ace-high, but Jarvis had a pair with {A-Spades}{4-Clubs} and took the pot.

That one carries Jarvis over 5 million, while Filtz hovers around 4.5 million.

Jarvis Nears 5 Million

Matt Jarvis opened to 85,000 with the button, Wesley Pantling three-bet to 185,000 from the small blind, and Jarvis called.

The flop came down {6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, Pantling led for 250,000 and Jarvis called.

The turn was the {5-Clubs}, and Pantling slowed down, checking to Jarvis who fired 340,000. Pantling called.

Pantling again checked after the river brought the {8-Clubs}, and Jarvis announced, "one million." Pantling mucked, and the pot was sent to the 2010 November Niner.

A Few for Filtz

Level 27 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Justin Filtz
Justin Filtz

Wesley Pantling folded, Justin Filtz limped from the small blind, and Matt Jarvis called. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades} and both checked. Both checked the {8-Diamonds} turn as well. The river was the {A-Clubs}, and when Filtz checked Jarvis bet 60,000, looking as though he'd be happy to take the seemingly unwanted pot.

But Filtz wanted it, too, and check-raised to 190,000. A grin spread on Jarvis' face as he considered what to do. Finally he called, and Filtz showed the {A-Spades}{4-Hearts} for aces and eights. Jarvis mucked.

Filtz has a little under 5 million at present, while Jarvis has about 4.35 million.

The river was the {a-Clubs}, and Filtz checked a third time. Jarvis pushed out 190,000, and Filtz instantly called.

Jarvis opened up {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a pair of aces, and they were good.
