Eric Cloutier Eliminated in 7th Place ($87,702)

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Eric Cloutier - 7th place
Eric Cloutier - 7th place

Eric Cloutier opened for 57,000 from late position and Amir Lehavot raised on the button to 120,000. Cloutier called and the flop fell {9-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {6-Spades}. Cloutier sat still for several moments before eventually checking. Lehavot bet 75,000 and Cloutier almost instantly went all in. Lehavot called and the hands were tabled:

Cloutier: {Q-Spades} {7-Spades}
Lehavot: {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades}

The turn brought the {8-Spades} giving Cloutier a flush draw. But he bricked on the river when it came {2-Clubs}. Cloutier left the final table area and Lehavot is up to 2,100,000.

McLean Karr Eliminated in 8th Place ($67,596)

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
McLean Karr - 8th place
McLean Karr - 8th place

Action folded to McLean Karr on the button and he raised to 75,000. Sam Stein, in the big blind, re-raised the pot. Karr put the the rest of his stack, roughly 350,000, into the middle and Stein called.

Karr: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Stein: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

"I race well!" said an excited Karr. Stein chuckled, hoping that would not be the case this time.

The flop came down {J-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades} and put Karr ahead with top pair. The {7-Clubs} turn kept him there, but the river delivered a cruel {4-Clubs} to give Stein a set, ending Karr's tournament in 8th place.

Stein, meanwhile, upped his stack to about 1,500,000.

Michael Benvenuti Eliminated in 9th Place ($52,406)

Michael Benvenuti - 9th place
Michael Benvenuti - 9th place

Stephen Chidwick raised to 50,000 from the hijack only to have Michael Benvenuti bet pot, leaving himself just 64,000 behind. The blinds got out of the way and Chidwick made the call. When the flop came down {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, Chidwick led out and Benvenuti committed his remaining chips.

Benvenuti: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Chidwick: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

Chidwick's sixes were ahead, but Benvenuti was a favorite with his plethora of draws. The {8-Spades} turn left Chidwick looking for an ace, king, queen, or club to win the pot, but it was not in the cards as the {J-Diamonds} paired the board. Chidwick's small pocket pair held to eliminate Benvenuti in ninth place.
