Billirakis Before The Break

Steve Billirakis has just won a small pot from Sam Trickett minutes before the break.
Sam Trickett raises to 20,000 under the gun and Jerome Bradpiece and Steve Billirakis call in the blinds. The flop is {5-Spades} {4-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} and Trickett c-bets 45,000 and Billirakis calls. The turn {Q-Hearts} is checked by both players before we see the {6-Spades} on the river. Straight For Trickett

Ramzi Jelassi raises to 20,000 in early position and Sam Trickett takes a shot at him from the small blind. The action is slow and checks all the way through to the river on a board of {8-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {3-Spades} {7-Clubs} {10-Hearts}. Trickett bets 25,000 and Jelassi pays him off before mucking his cards unseen.

Heavy Turn Action

Michele Di Lauro raised to 20,000 on the button and Jerome Bradpiece called in the big blind. The flop was {3-Clubs} {2-Spades} {2-Clubs} and both players check. The turn of {7-Clubs} proved to be the action card. Bradpiece checked to Di Lauro who bet 15,000. Action back to Bradpiece and he check-raised to 52,000. It was a strong move but one that didn't phase the Italian. Di Lauro raised the action back up to 125,000 and Bradpiece folded.

Huge Double Up For Bradpiece

Sam Trickett, not so big anymore.
Sam Trickett, not so big anymore.

After being agressive for quite some time Jerome Bradpiece finally managed to find a very important double up. We caught the action on the flop, {7-Spades}{J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}, with Trickett betting out 47,000. Bradpiece thought about it for a while and decided to raise to 82,000. "Pot," Trickett announced making it 301,000 effectively putting Bradpiece all-in who called quickly.

The turn was the {A-Spades} changing nothing but the river, the {10-Clubs}, gave Bradpiece the winning full house. Frustration was clearly visible on Trickett's face as he lost a big chunk of his stack. It's still everyone's game here in Cannes as we head towards the third WSOPE bracelet winner of 2011.

Di Lauro Takes Big One From Jelassi

After a slow start the players at the final table kicked it into a higher gear giving us plenty of action to describe. We just caught the action on the flop between Jelassi and Di Lauro. The flop read {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Di Lauro check-called a 22,000 bet from Jelassi.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Di Lauro checked-called again. This time the bet was 40,000 and the river brought out the {6-Diamonds}. For the third straight time the Italian checked to Jelassi who fired out 70,000. Di Lauro gave it some thought and finally called.

Jelassi showed {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} for trips but his cards got mucked as soon as Di Lauro turned over {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Di Lauro mumbled something about a check-raise spot but we it wasn't clear on which street he had this plan. Jelassi give something to the Italian evening out the chips even more.
