Watson Wins Huge Pot From Wade, Takes Chip Lead

Level 5 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Michael Watson made it 24,000 to play from the button, which forced Richard Toth to fold in the small blind. Tristan Wade asked Watson how many chips he had and when Watson said "around 500," Wade three-bet to 69,000. Watson made the call and whilst the dealer was putting out the flop, Wade re-checked his holecards.

Flop: {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} - Wade lead into Watson with a bet of 76,000. Watson considered his options and made the call.

Turn: {K-Clubs} - The king on the turn was greeted with an 88,000 bet. Watson again took some time to come to a decision, eventually calling.

River: {A-Diamonds} - Wade now checked to Watson who sat completely motionless for almost a minute before moving two stacks of black chips over the betting line, worth 200,000. Wade called quickly but mucked when he saw Watson held {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} for a full house.

"You could have stacked me," said Wade.

Level 5 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Max Silver bust out in 4th place.
Max Silver bust out in 4th place.

The very next hand saw the elimination of Max Silver. He raised to 25,000 from under-the-gun and the action folded around to Tristan Wade in the big blind. He put out a three-bet to 68,000 and snapped the Brit's hand off when he shoved for about 420,000.

Silver: {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Wade: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The board ran {3-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}.

Silver looked understandably disappointed as he left the TV set. Wade is up to 1.35m now.

ElkY sees his fate on the river. ElkY - 5th place
ElkY sees his fate on the river. ElkY - 5th place

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier has been eliminated in fifth place and his hopes of a second World Series of Poker bracelet lay in tatters.

The action folded to Michael Watson in the cutoff and he raised to 24,000. ElkY moved all in and with the action back on Watson he reluctantly made the call.

Watson{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
ElkY{k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Watson spiked a set on the {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop, leaving ElkY drawing to a chop. one of them appeared on the {5-Diamonds} turn but the {3-Spades} was the final nail in his coffin and he exits the table and heads straight out of the door.

Typical 5-Max Action.....

Level 5 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

......Or not as the case may be.

In one orbit we saw three walks, one raise and take, and one completion from the small blind only to fold to a raise. Are the players still digestion their dinner?

Tristan Has To Wade Through 1,000,000 chips

Level 5 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Tristan Wade is the first player to surpass the one million chip mark after another clash with Richard Toth.

Toth opened the betting with a raise to 30,000 and only Wade, next to act, called. The {3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop was met with a 36,000 bet from Toth and a call from Wade. It was a similar story when the {A-Hearts} landed on the turn, a bet of 58,000 from Toth and a call from Wade, albeit after a brief pause to analyse his opponent. The {8-Clubs} on the river saw both players check.

Toth{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Wade{J-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Wade wins the pot and with that is past 1,000,000 chips.

Wade Extends Lead

Level 5 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Tristan Wade has extended his lead at the top and is closing in on the magic million mark with 950,000.

Richard Toth opened to 25,000 from the cut-off before Wade three-bet to 62,000 from the button. The Hungarian wasn't done with the hand though and put in a four-bet to 125,000. The action was back on the American and he had the cut of a man who didn't want to go anywhere. He studied his opponent for a minute and then announced he was all-in. Snap fold from Toth.

Silver Shoves

Level 5 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Richard Toth folded and Tristan Wade min-raised to 24,000. Max Silver was next to act and he paused briefly before announcing he was all in. Michael Watson and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier folded but Wade considered his options for a solid minute, constantly studying Silver. He must have seen something he did not like because he folded.
