After earning his Masters in Micro-Engineering, François Girardet never actually ended up pursuing a career in that field; he would much rather play poker. The Swiss native has done just that, playing poker for a total of 3 years and in the last year, has been playing it for a living. It all started after a discussion with his girlfriend compelled him to find out more about the rules and strategies of the game. He was initially interested in 5 card poker but nowadays, his playing efforts are centred at the No Limit Texas Holdem and Razz tables. Spending most of his time in ring games, winning entry to this year’s World Series Main Event is his biggest poker victory to date. Although mentally fatigued, François was really “proud and excited” to have won. When François isn’t playing poker, he’s playing any number of other sports, including handball and diving.
