An accountant from Montreal in Canada, Joakim Beaupre began playing poker after seeing his friend have some success at the game. Joakim enjoys online and live poker, although he has to travel to Atlantic City to play live games, as there are no poker tables in Quebec casinos. Joakim often plays No Limit Texas Holdem in tournaments but has been known to play Pot Limit Omaha in ring games, for fun. His biggest poker success was placing 12th in a $1050 online event. Whilst certainly “excited” to have won entry to the World Series Main Event, Joakim has elected to defer his celebrations “until after the final table”. When he’s not at the tables, Joakim enjoys music and playing video games. This will be Joakim’s first appearance at the World Series Main Event and we hope he will have plenty of reasons to celebrate after the final table.
