Jyri Linna from Finland has been playing poker for three years and began playing after hearing about the game from a friend and watching a few videos on the internet. Jyri is currently studying technical chemistry and industrial management at the Technical University of Lappeenranta. Jyri enjoys playing both live and online poker, although he spends more time online. His favourite games include No Limit Texas Holdem and Pot Limit Omaha. Jyri also likes playing in both cash games and tournaments. Previously, Jyri placed second in a $70,000 Guaranteed Tournament online but winning entry to this year’s World Series Main Event is his biggest victory at present. “It was fantastic”, commented Jyri after his win, “I lost an earlier tournament through very, very bad play”. Jyri continues, “I was very mad at myself but now I’m happy”. Although he was happy, Jyri didn’t really celebrate, he just went out to eat. Besides playing poker, the Fin enjoys football, ice hockey and tennis. Although Jyri hasn’t been to the World Series Main Event before, he has played in the EPT Dortmund in Germany.
