    A Fortunate Turn

Robert McLaughlin was just the beneficiary of some tourney-saving good fortune. He'd gotten all of his chips in the middle on a flop of {J-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} while holding {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, only to run up against an opponent holding pocket treys. The {K-Hearts} popped out on the turn, though, and McLaughlin's hand held up. He now has 71,000.

    Stammen Jammin'

Spencer Tep was all in on a flop of {4-Spades}{J-Spades}{9-Clubs} holding {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}, hoping his pair would hold against Keven Stammen's {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}. The turn was the {K-Diamonds}, and Tep was still okay, but the {10-Spades} on the river meant Tep was tapped out.

    Stammen now has 140,000.
