Jeff LIsandro is the overnight chip leader.Wrap It Up!
Day 2 has come to a much later than anticipated end. We had lots of star power going into this Day 2, with names like Mercier, Boyd, and Bach in the field. At the end of the day, there were eight remaining. Their seat assignments and counts for tomorrow are:
Seat 1: Jeff Lisandro (334,000)
Seat 2: Eric Pardey (217,000)
Seat 3: Nick Frangos (84,000)
Seat 4: John Juanda (287,000)
Seat 5: Mitch Schock (83,000)
Seat 6: Steven Stencil (323,000)
Seat 7: Rod Pardey (245,000)
Seat 8: Daniel Studer (43,000)
There are two name pros left -- Jeff Lisandro and John Juanda -- as well as an uncle-and-nephew team in double-bracelet winner Rod Pardey and his nephew Eric Pardey. Will success stay in the Pardey family, or will someone else win the bracelet?
Tune in at 2pm tomorrow to find out! -

Thor Hansen Eliminated in 9th Place ($9,360)
We finally got our elimination. Thor Hansen made a stand on third with split tens. Steven Stencil took a chance with
/
. It was a good bet for Stencil; he made fours full of nines by the river, leaving Hansen drawing dead.
Hansen earned $9,360 for ninth place and with that, Day 2 has ended. -

Rule 96...?
Well, the TD has made a decision to ignore Rule 96. We're playing past 3am until the next player is eliminated, no matter how long it takes. It might have helped stimulate action if the players knew that an hour ago, but be that as it may -- we're here for a bit longer.

Frangos Doubles Up
We thought we finally had our last elimination. Nick Frangos was all in on fourth street with
/
and called by Mitch Schock, who turned over
/
. Fast forward to the river, where Frangos is looking for the case jack to make Broadway, or an ace or a king to fill up. He squeezed out the
to make aces full and double up. We're still not at a final table... yet. -

Studer Chips Up
Break out your 2009 WSOP Rule Books. It looks like we're heading for another application of Rule 96 (the "3am Rule"). Daniel Studer just took a sizable pot off of John Juanda and Thor Hansen. He completed the
on third street and was called by Hansen's
and Juanda's
.
Studer bet again on fourth, the
. Hansen called with the
and Juanda called with the
. Each player checked fifth street. On sixth street, Hansen had the betting lead and bet
. Juanda folded
before Studer raised
. That raise brought a fold from Hansen.
With that pot, there is no legitimite short stack. Given that a twenty-minute break is imminent, we look to be playing until 3am. -

It's Getting Late in Brasilia
We had Daniel Studer all in with split queens against Steven Stencil's split nines, but Studer managed to fill up queens full of fives to remain in the tournament. He's still the short stack with about 37,000 chips.
Otherwise, this just seems to be a waiting game.
